On Liberty, Online. A Liberal View of Sheffield. Dave, Nice but Knave. Millenium Dome, Elephant. Tuesday, August 22, 2006. Excuse me, BBC? This is one of the front page headlines on BBC News Politics. Tories surge ahead, poll suggests. However, reading the article. Tells you the following:. The results suggest a 1% rise for the Tories since last month, and a 5% increase for the Lib Dems, but Labour are down 5%. So who is doing the surging? This should give the folks at Biased BBC. Something to think about.

Pays off at last! This excellent ditty was posted by one of Guido's "co-conspirators" Nick Drew as a suggestion to sing at the CCHQ Away Day - I am moved to suggest that the Scottish Lib Dems could adopt it as an unofficial anthem. ;-). To the tune of 'Donald, Where's Yer Troosers? I’m from Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath. Links t...

On Liberty, Online. A Liberal View of Sheffield. Dave, Nice but Knave. Millenium Dome, Elephant. Monday, January 29, 2007. Up 3 in YouGov: Lib Dem supporters not dead, just hibernating. If you don't "do" polls, look away now! Is out with a substantial bounce for the Lib Dems:. Con 38% ( 1). LD 18% ( 3). Poll showing us up five. If these trends are anything to go by, January's MORI poll ought to be a good one when it comes out. I'm guessing somewhere in the area of 20-21%, but watch this space. Campaign w...

On Liberty, Online. A Liberal View of Sheffield. Dave, Nice but Knave. Millenium Dome, Elephant. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Result on the new tax plans today - we've single-handedly outflanked Labour on social justice, outflanked the Tories on tax cuts, and out-greened the Greens. I couldn't be more proud. I think that this result speaks volumes about how well this party's democratic. And it's a good thing. Debate invigorates this party - and the democratic. Posted by Joe Taylor @ 2:21 pm 0 comments.

Most politicians would be delighted to see a comment piece in the morning paper telling them that they had the right policy ideas. Let this be a lesson - pandering to extremists, however well-intentioned, will always. Was always straying on the wrong side of acceptability. Just compare that with the measured argument. If any reade...

On C4 made me so cross I had to step into the kitchen and shout angrily for several minutes to no-one in particular. It turns out that his fingerprints were. On the letters - because they were Christmas cards that he himself had sent. Even better if it can tell you the sort of person you're looking for. A common reaction to this sort of threat is to demand...
