Hello. My name is Stuart Robson and I'm a Front-End Developer.
How I use my RSS | Always Twisted. Front-End Development.
http://www.alwaystwisted.com/articles/2014-02-27-how-i-use-my-rss
Slightly Bizarre Ramblings Of A Front-End Developer }. How I use my RSS. Last night at the Port80 spring #Localhost I touched on ways I ‘keep up’ in web development, now I’m working full-time in the industry instead of being on the peripherals as a night-owl freelancer. After twitter, which I use once in a while, I rely on my collection of RSS feeds. If it sounds boring, I’d guess it is. As I’ve got a potential huge amount of posts to go through I ‘attack’ my RSS in 3 stages. But that still takes time.

Slightly Bizarre Ramblings Of A Front-End Developer }. So, this morning I was looking through my twitter feed (I'm on twitter quite a bit) and I saw tweets about how well a Sass meetup. In San Francisco went (and that most attendees were signed up to SassNews. I've always wanted to run some form of local meetup. In Salisbury there's not really much of 'a scene' as far as I know. Being a huge fan of Sass what I really wanted was a Sass meetup to go to. LDN Sass, London? So, if you can help with any of the...

Slightly Bizarre Ramblings Of A Front-End Developer }. Ldquo; If you’ve not got anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”. A phrase I’m sure many people could say they’ve heard from a parental voice at a young age. I’m sure it was possibly something Basil Fawlty would’ve said during “The Kipper And The Corpse” too. In 2014, I was overjoyed to have been able to speak at various meetups and some conferences too. So I can listen. Going back to the quote at the start of this post, and echoing Alic...
Organising Your Grunt Tasks | Always Twisted. Front-End Development.
http://www.alwaystwisted.com/articles/organising-your-grunt-tasks
Slightly Bizarre Ramblings Of A Front-End Developer }. Organising Your Grunt Tasks. I've been slowly and steadily working on Squealer. In my spare time and evenings recently. Trying to create a set of 'starter files using Grunt. Squealer isn't really a new project. I did have a very old 'first attempt' at something using Grunt when the task runner was pretty fresh to the industry. All of the plugins code into one file I could simply abstract them out into their own separate .js file. I don't really want ...
Rethinking Your Sass Variables | Always Twisted. Front-End Development.
http://www.alwaystwisted.com/articles/rethinking-your-sass-variables
Slightly Bizarre Ramblings Of A Front-End Developer }. Rethinking Your Sass Variables. Using variables in Sass or any other preprocessor makes it easier to populate your stylesheets easily without having to remember the exact hexadecimal code for the Facebook blue 261 times. As well as making it easier on the developer to use something like. Using a variable means if you need to change the shade of your clients main brand colour by a smidgen across the site, it's relatively easy to do so. I'd "be happy i...

Creating my Wedding Website with Sass and Susy. Is fast becoming a must-have tool in every front-end dev’s utility belt and is something I wanted to learn for a while. One of the things I found increasingly frustrating about writing CSS was having to go through and manually change every colour hex value in the stylesheet when I wanted to make a small tweak to the design. I got my chance on a half-day workshop with Stuart Robson. As part of Web Dev Conf 2014. I’d been using Bootstrap. A grid system for Sa...

Z63 | 8 Sass mixins you must have in your toolbox
http://zerosixthree.se/8-sass-mixins-you-must-have-in-your-toolbox
8 Sass mixins you must have in your toolbox. January 15, 2014. At their core, Sass mixins are blocks of code that you define once and can then re-use anywhere, if you are familiar with any programming language you can think of them as functions. A mixin can take multiple parameters and make calls to functions to in the end output CSS, and they are super useful when you want really clean and DRY code. Some of the mixins below are already included in the Compass. 1 Set a rem font size with pixel fallback.

Zal ik jou mijn naam eens zeggen? Vroeg een lief vierjarig meisje vandaag aan mij. Ik weet al hoe jij heet", antwoordde ik haar. Ze keek verbaasd. "Jouw naam is Pauline.". Verwonderd keek Pauline me aan, alsof ik alles dat er te weten valt ook effectief wist. In haar ogen las ik de hoop dat zij als volwassene ook alles ter wereld zou weten. Ik bracht haar terug met beide voeten op de grond. "Jouw mama heeft mij dat gezegd", zei ik. En ineens snapte ze het, mama had het gezegd. Hoe oud ben jij eigenlijk?
