Amanda Tyler's Blog. Reflecting on Field Experience. April 17, 2010 at 2:21 am ( confidence. Flickr photo byRob Shenk. I believe mostly everyone in the class is currently going to field placements for TE 301 or did it last semester (or maybe last year). As it comes to a close, I am able to look back and reflect on challenges, successes, and my overall experience. I urge you to do the same in the comment box! Of course, there were a few challenges (or learning experiences! I was often paired with one part...

Amanda Tyler's Blog. April 26, 2010 at 12:08 am ( opinion. Flickr photo by Waifer X. This week we explored clickers. I found that most uses of clickers include polling systems or answering questions. Because I will be an elementary ed major, I don’t think the use of clickers is incredibly practical. Overall, in the elementary classroom setting, I don’t think clickers achieve anything that can be achieved without them. April 27, 2010 at 4:26 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. In class on Tuesday we explored Smartboards. There were sounds and scribbling. Interactive, yes. (It was pretty cool to touch the screen, but not too much more unique than my sensitive “mouse” area). The screen’s big, but overhead projectors are too. You can write on it…like a chalkboard. Filed under Technology in Teaching World.

Tech N Teach: LIteracy Reference Project

http://mkopaczteach.blogspot.com/2010/04/literacy-reference-project.html

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/40836723@N08/. CC BY-NC 2.0. So I just recently started doing my Literacy Reference project for TE 301. A lot of people seemed really stressed out about it. I wasn't so worried just because I hadn't even read the rubric for it. I'm glad, though, that I didn't start sooner because my professor announced to us, just recently, that we could don't have to necessarily make a binder of references; we could make a WEBSITE. If you don't follow his blog.

Saturday, April 10, 2010. Do They Really Understand? Http:/ creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.0/deed.en. I was reading an article today from one of the blogs I am following on my google reader. It talked about how students may act as though they are comprehending and understanding the book they are reading, but are they really? Do you see how they could be confusing? Getting comfortable Teaching with Technology: Literacy for our future student!

http://jancekst.blogspot.com/2010/04/literacy-for-our-future-student.html

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Literacy for our future student! I am writing a lesson plan on comprehension for one of my other classes and I need to have them read a part of an informational book and see what they understand. I went to the East Lansing library to find a book to use. When I first walked in there were a ton of children reading books with parents, or playing on the computers. I was shocked but pleasantly surprised by this! What do you think? Posted by Stephanie Jancek. April 15, 2010 at 9:29 AM.

Getting comfortable Teaching with Technology: Digital Cameras!

http://jancekst.blogspot.com/2010/04/digital-cameras.html

Saturday, April 17, 2010. Http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/mikekeran/. CC BY 2.0. I never thought that a digital camera could be so useful in the classroom. I will definitely bring my camera in the classroom to help my students gain a better understanding of how books actually work! Posted by Stephanie Jancek. April 18, 2010 at 9:28 AM. It just goes to show that the right type of technology can really engage students in their work and enhance the lesson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
