My Mess, His Message. March 4, 2015. King David was the 2nd king of Israel, chosen directly by God. He was selected to lead God’s people because he was a man after God’s own heart. David was constantly seeking God, praising God, trusting in God, confessing to God – which is clearly evident in the Psalms that he wrote. But did you know that King David was also a repentant sinner? Did you know that even the closest person to God can falter in a moment of weakness, creating life-altering consequences? 1 Hav...

My Mess, His Message. This song is my absolute favorite right now – it ministers to me every time I hear it. It reminds me that no matter what the trial (big or small), I can overcome it as long as I keep my focus on my Savior, Jesus Christ. He calls us to do BIG things that are out of our own strength, which is precisely why we. Keep our eyes on Him. Oceans (Where Feet May Fail). You call me out upon the waters. The great unknown where feet may fail. And there I find You in the mystery. Will be my guide.

My Mess, His Message. Archive for December, 2014. 2014 was an exciting year full of blessings and challenges. As I spent time reflecting this morning on just how much has happened, it became clear just how blessed we truly are. Brad and I have been fortunate to be able to split our time between Florida and Colorado – and have been very blessed to have jobs that support it. We’ve met lots of great people in both places who have enriched our lives in so many ways. We’ve had several ups and downs with...

My Mess, His Message. Archive for June, 2014. The First Time I Lost Control. As a teenager, it is fun to be liked and have lots of friends. It’s fun to always have somewhere to be and something to do. It was especially fun for me when I found attention. It didn’t really matter where it came from – I just loved being noticed. I found that exhilarating! BUT – I was still this shy, timid little girl who was looking for approval. I’m not going to go into all of the detail, but I will tell you that I wa...

My Mess, His Message. Archive for August, 2014. So Much for Subtle Rebellion. I’ve already told you about how much of a fan I was of getting attention from boys as a teenager. Here I am at 16 years old and my desire for attention has only grown. Being 16 years old also means one other HUGE thing to teenagers DRIVER’S LICENSE! And then just cruise. I would spend my weekends with him when I wasn’t working. I would even go to his house during my lunch hour at school. Yep there was that, too. For those o...

My Mess, His Message. Our Heavenly Father makes promises and reveals truths to us through His word and I often find myself desiring to pray His words back to Him. These are a few verses that I cling to that have really spoken to my heart. May they be a blessing to you as well. 8230;He comforts us in all our afflictions, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves received from God… 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. 8220;For I know the plans I have for yo...

My Mess, His Message. Archive for March, 2015. The Perfect Date… or was it? A romantic summer hike high up in the mountains in Alaska. A picnic lunch shared in an open space on the side of a mountain pass. A campfire cooked dinner outside of a cabin tucked away in the woods. A glass of wine shared between two people who are getting to know each other for the first time. Sounds romantic, doesn’t it? Even though it was the middle of summer, the mountains were still snow-capped (it was Alaska after all!

My Mess, His Message. Archive for November, 2014. Do you believe in miracles? I’ve heard it said that miracles don’t exist. I disagree I’ve even witnessed some, myself! Recently I was reading in the gospel of Matthew and chapters 8 and 9 document miracle after miracle that Jesus performed. As I read it, I started to wonder what it would have been like to witness these miracles by Jesus’ own hand. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:1-3 NASB. When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his m...
