Some of them were not well known outside their local communities, however, they were important to the total picture of the past. Priscilla came to America on the Mayflower in 1620. She survived illness and starvation and helped found Plymouth Colony. She participated in the first Thanksgiving. Maria observed George Washington's inauguration in 1789. She was a mistress of Alexander Hamilton.
