American In Sydney

Friday, September 10, 2010. Where has the time gone? It has been 2 years since the last time I "blogged" and I wonder if it's due to the fact that I no longer feel the culture shock of being a fish out of water in Australia. There have been a number of life changing events these last 2 years. Instead of delving into my memories to share the details that most people would already know, I've outlined them below, just in case you have no idea what has been going on with me. 2) Had a baby. 3) Bought a house.

American In Sydney: Happy Fourth of July

http://www.americaninsydney.blogspot.com/2007/07/happy-fourth-of-july.html

Saturday, July 07, 2007. Happy Fourth of July. Happy Fourth of July to all those around the world. I know you must think that I'm a couple of days late, however, July the Fourth was not only one day for me this year, but rather several days. Has it more become a holiday of picnics and fireworks? I realised that I didn't really truly understand the importance of the fourth until this year - the year spent in a foreign country, with no picnics, no American music, and no fireworks. American In Sydney: July 2006

http://www.americaninsydney.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 30, 2006. SoSaturday was a day of Rugby disappointment. We went to go watch Jackson's cousin (Brendan) play Rugby. You have to understand that it's almost a religion here. The school that Bren attends is reknowned for producing great rugby players. As a result, pretty much all the boys there play rugby! I've been trying my best to pick up the rugby lingo and trying to just understand the game, but the rules are quite complicated! I'm even mixing up the names of the sports! Word of the Day:.

How do the universities secure this kind of money? For the past 5 years I have given annually without miss to better my future children's chances of getting into Princeton just in case the fact that both Jackson and I are alums isn't enough. A Citizen Of The World: Stuck Drifting

http://sibelius47.blogspot.com/2007/09/stuck-drifting.html

A Citizen Of The World. Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Imagine you are trying to run on the moon. With each kick of your feet you only float upwards. You feel frustrated because while you are in the air, no matter how fast you move your legs, you go nowhere. You try to seize each sacred opportunity to move forward when you drift back down to the ground, but the harder you kick, the higher you get stuck. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Citizen Of The World: A year and two on

http://sibelius47.blogspot.com/2008/12/year-and-two-on.html

A Citizen Of The World. Tuesday, December 23, 2008. A year and two on. Is it in my heart, my gut or my mind? Wherever it is, I have a feeling the success of 2009 will depend heavily on me rediscovering it. Let 2009 be the year I reinvent myself.again. Tomorrow I leave for a week in St. Petersburg and Moscow for a long overdue trip to see Tchaikovsky's home and visit some friends. A long needed break. Hopefully I'll get alot accomplished in the 5 hours of sunlight and freezing weather.

http://sibelius47.blogspot.com/2008/03/culture.html

A Citizen Of The World. Sunday, March 02, 2008. For some reason, my desire for writing is directly correlated with how busy I am. I've also just noticed that busy-ness spelled with the 'y' changed to an 'i' is business. Hmm.I wonder. The past few months have not been busy at all. That's not to say that not much have been happening. Since my last post, I've traveled to Guadeloupe, graduated from business school, became an uncle, moved to London and started work. The only person who reads your posts said.

http://sibelius47.blogspot.com/2007/04/bingo-day.html

A Citizen Of The World. Wednesday, April 11, 2007. I love bingo day! Every student gets a bingo card with words on it. Last time we had words like 'stock', 'put', 'long call', 'leverage', etc. Each time our finance professor says one of these words, you cross it off your sheet. When you crossed off a complete row or column you scream out 'LINE! And if you cross off 5 rows or columns, you scream 'BINGO! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

A Citizen Of The World: The List

http://sibelius47.blogspot.com/2007/11/list.html

A Citizen Of The World. Thursday, November 15, 2007. Today, I started to make a long-term 'todo' list. As I started jotting down the things I wanted to experience, the list seemed to grow exponentially. As such, I'm only including things that are possible today, within my control, non-professional and non-travel (these things are far too numerous). I'm hoping to cross off at least 1 item each year. Here are the first 15, in no particular order:. 2) Swim with a family of wild dolphins. 7) Fly a plane.

A Citizen Of The World. Saturday, September 08, 2012. I went to hear Pinchas Zukerman play Bruch tonight. A great piece that. Always makes me happy. But perhaps the more interesting thing tonight. Was what was happening across the street. It was opening night at the. San Francisco Opera. I stood outside and watched the parade of poofy. Dresses, peacock colours and men in white gloves and monocles. Why do. People dress so extravagantly for the opera? Music and dress have no. View my complete profile.

An American in Sussex

Monday, December 19, 2011. My term in Sussex ended December 9th. I took my finals, said goodbye to some amazing friends, and took the 12 hour National Express overnight bus from London to St Andrews, arriving Saturday morning. It's been amazing to be back in St Andrews with friends and doing Christmassy things. Probably shoes that had fit better. My time in the UK is at it's end. I leave tomorrow to head back to Phoenix, and I have mixed feelings. I'm glad I'm coming back during Christmas time, b...I hav...
