Mosaic Maps in FITS Format. Two versions of a mosaic map of the SHASSA images are available for downloading, one at high resolution. 3600x1800 pixels, 0.1 degrees/pixel, 2.9 Mbytes compressed, 25.9 Mbytes uncompressed) and the other at medium resolution. Warning to IDL users:. These maps were made using the formulae for the Hamar-Aitoff projection given by Calabretta and Greisen in their Paper II. And are NOT normalized to x = ±180. Y = ±90. El Enano

Dwarfed by the other telescopes at CTIO, the Swarthmore robotic survey camera. Sits in a 10-foot dome (from Technical Innovations, Inc.) on a concrete pad near the one-meter telescope building. Its small size has earned it the nickname of El Enano (the dwarf). Much smaller than the nearby one-meter telescope, its dome is barely visible beneath the arrow tip in the photo at the upper right. It is only slightly larger than the Volkswagen parked in front of it in the photo at lower right.

Significant Changes to SHASSA Home Page. Corrected error in the keyword TIME-OBS on all images. Through a coding sign error, all of the values were 5 to 20 minutes too large. Also clarified the accompanying comment. This value is the mean UT of the first image of a set, not the mean UT time of the entire set. Added reference to Finkbeiner all sky map. Added link to NASA's Skyview Virtual Observatory page. Added description of camera and link to CTIO page. The correction amounts to no more than 0.5 R.
