For the love of cooking. Wednesday, November 5, 2008. In the spirit of Halloween and my love of baking, I decided to enter the "Booo-tiful Halloween Cupcake Contest" hosted by a blog I like howtoeatacupcake.net. My friend Angie was hosting a Halloween party, to which she suggested we bring goodies, so I figured it was a good excuse! I wanted to create something unique with fall flavorings, so I started pondering all my favorite fall foods and I came up with the following:. 1 3/4 c. sugar. Beat together c...

For the love of cooking. Friday, March 28, 2008. Fabulous food / condiment must haves. I do love to cook, however I am usually pretty busy, so I'm a big fan of anything that can make my life easier while making my food 100% better. Therefore, over the years I have come across some serious favorites that I can't live without. Thankfully all of these also have websites as I don't live where you can access these stores close by! I know, I should move, right? In no particular order). Nielsen - Massey Vanilla.

For the love of cooking. Sunday, February 15, 2009. Imagine a really soft breakfast bread that is cinnamon and vanilla-y. The batch made 4 mini loaves and about 8 cupcakes. it was fun sharing the good with friends and family, and hopefully I'll get another starter in the near future! Labels: Amish friendship bread. The recipe called for 2 Tablespoons. Of red food coloring - That's a ton! Boy were they red though. I finally made my own frosting (I usually just buy some) and I'm so glad I did! As I am gene...

http://bakingisbliss.blogspot.com/2009/03/german-chocolate-cake-for-dad.html
For the love of cooking. Monday, March 16, 2009. German Chocolate Cake for Dad. It is my Dad's birthday (Pi Day) once again, so I was trying to decide what rendition of a German Chocolate cake I would make this year. For months I've been reading about filled cupcakes, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try to make some. I found a recipe that sounded good (from Bon Appetit. It had to be good, right? The cake came out pretty well, though I did have to pour the frosting on before I was ab...

For the love of cooking....: Easter Dessert #1 - Chocolate
http://bakingisbliss.blogspot.com/2009/04/easter-dessert-1-chocolate.html
For the love of cooking. Friday, April 10, 2009. Easter Dessert #1 - Chocolate. In a recent search through Cooking Light's "Lighten Up" section. I ran across something un-creatively named "Cool, Creamy Chocolate Dessert". I am not a huge cream cheese or "mousse" textured dessert fan, but it got rave reviews from readers so I decided I would make it as my chocolate dessert. It looked fairly simple to make, so I was determined to make it look good too. Look how pretty the crust is! How To Eat A Cupcake.

For the love of cooking. Tuesday, October 28, 2008. After hearing about Martha Stewart's Pumpkin Swirl Brownies. From several blogs I like, I decided they were a must try. The recipe can be found. I really wish I had thought to take a picture of the whole tray before I cut it though, it was really beautiful! Unfortunately, I must have done something wrong (or missed a step? For the love of cooking....: Sunset Dream Cupcakes
http://bakingisbliss.blogspot.com/2009/03/sunset-dream-cupcakes.html
For the love of cooking. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Had a craving for cupcakes and fruit (must be spring, eh? So I decided to whip up a batch inspired by the pretty sunset. I used a simple yellow cake mix (due to lack of time) and put a marachino cherry in the middle of each cupcake. I was hoping it would stay in the middle of the cupcake as it cooked, but sadly gravity made it sink to the bottom. Has anyone done something like this? What is the key to keeping it in the middle of the cupcake?

For the love of cooking. Monday, April 13, 2009. Easter Dessert #2 - light and fruity. To balance out the dessert platter with the chocolate piece, I decided to cook something fruity. When I went to the supermarket and saw that strawberries were only 99 cents I knew they would be the winner! The recipe I picked was for a Strawberry Creme Caramel Tart. It looked delicious and I had such high hopes for it! Did you know all you do is heat white granulated sugar? Here's the final product:. Sometimes I am sti...
