so many things to love...

So many things to love. 31 Days of House To Home. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. But I am having trouble abiding by the 'no twaddle' rules when I can't fully see whether what I'm reading is twaddle or not. I don't know what it will look like by the end of the school year. Maybe I'll have ignored the advice of my betters and started reading Captain Underpants. I doubt this will happen, but we likely also won't stick to reading off a booklist either. so many things to love...: December 2014

http://amyfortherestblog.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

So many things to love. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. But, and here's the problem, I can't bear to get rid of things that somehow I still see as useful. So that's always a struggle for me. I like it when a toy breaks because then I'm confident to throw it away! I have stacks of blankets that we simply don't need, and pillowcases.don't get me started on those. And jackets, and crayons and cookbooks and. Posted by so many things to love. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Posted by so many things to love.

so many things to love...: Reading to the children and on my own

http://amyfortherestblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/reading-to-children-and-on-my-own.html

So many things to love. Monday, July 20, 2015. Reading to the children and on my own. Now what have I been reading? A bit of this and a bit of that, really. We were traveling quite a bit this month so I read Pride and Prejudice again, and then picked up and finished a book by a Canadian author - The Door Is Open - about Christian hospitality. Now I'm reading some Barbara Pym and Kristin Lavransdattar is waiting for me. A little intimidated. Posted by so many things to love. My children eat fish.

So many things to love. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Learning Notes for the end of July. We're doing a literature-based kindergarten year and our main focal points will be phonics and math skills. Our day is going to be loosely structured and I'm hoping that will help my desire for order. Posted by so many things to love. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). so many things to love...: June 2015

http://amyfortherestblog.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

So many things to love. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. It's been a little while since I did a homeschooling update, and since there have been some pretty substantial changes (well, one major one, anyway) it seems high time. David and I have agreed not to make any final decisions about school until the end of the month, but I think we can safely say we've enjoyed the experiment, but we're getting a little tired of it. Public school is a lot of work! Ultimately, that's the thing, isn't it? Saturday, June 20, 2015.

so many things to love...: Soap, foggy days, book rethinking

http://amyfortherestblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/soap-foggy-days-book-rethinking.html

So many things to love. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Soap, foggy days, book rethinking. So I made soap yesterday and I didn't die or horrifically burn myself or anything. It all went smoothly and I am the proud possessor of about a dozen bars of oatmeal bath soap that I can start using in about 4 weeks. It was fun! While David is working, we're puttering around. I managed to get two good sized mason jars of homemade chicken broth in the fridge, and the small stock pot is on a back burner and full of beef ...

Lissla Lissar's blog: Glorious trip. And today, ouch

http://aerinlissar.blogspot.com/2015/05/glorious-trip-and-today-ouch.html

Food, kids, thoughts, books, homeschooling. Wednesday, May 06, 2015. Glorious trip. And today, ouch. The power of Nathaniel squared. It went very well aside from squabbling among children, i.e Thomas randomly punching Nate because he isn't used to having to share his brother with anyone. Anna-Liza, Nate's mum. We happened to get there around feeding time, so we got to see the penguins and the cheetahs being fed. That was really cool. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a youngish (is thirty youngish?

Food, kids, thoughts, books, homeschooling. Friday, May 15, 2015. Haven't blogged in a week. Because I have been furiously working- okay, Geoff. It's very hard to get my head around that. Also I get to design a kitchen. I am so excited about that I can't tell you. Wow. Oh, and today I took the kids to the ROM. Obligatory cute shots below. Yesterday at the park. Nat got to pull everyone in the cart. And then Elizabeth took over. Isn't Mim's outfit terrific? She's like Revenge of the Loud Patterns. DOCUMEN...

Lissla Lissar's blog: I mopped the floor

http://aerinlissar.blogspot.com/2015/05/i-mopped-floor.html

Food, kids, thoughts, books, homeschooling. Saturday, May 09, 2015. I mopped the floor. It's not even nine, and I mopped the floor. I am so impressed with myself. Okay, I mopped the kitchen. Okay, I mopped the kitchen because the children have been outside every day, in the yard, and two or three times have had mud fights, which they have tracked into the house. The back door is through the kitchen. But I had help! This is really cute! Alison Norman @ Power Boss. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What ...

Lissla Lissar's blog: Yesterday

http://aerinlissar.blogspot.com/2015/05/yesterday.html

Food, kids, thoughts, books, homeschooling. Thursday, May 07, 2015. Yesterday Geoff and I went over to Dad's and met our architect friend Stephen to discuss planning about the house, and to start measuring parts. Hoo boy. I have no idea what I'm doing, and this is so big. We are impoverished and not used to doing anything bigger than, oh, buying groceries. Stephen was asking me about colour preferences, and siding materials, and building styles, and I realized that while I have preferences they're inchoa...

Lissla Lissar's blog: Sorry for the silence

http://aerinlissar.blogspot.com/2015/05/sorry-for-silence.html

Food, kids, thoughts, books, homeschooling. Sunday, May 03, 2015. Sorry for the silence. I have been agonizingly and slowly setting up this shop. Which has been in operation for less than twenty-four hours and has failed to bring me thousands of dollars of revenue. I'm so disappointed. So a lot of blogging time recently has been me weeping at the computer, saying, "Geoff, I don't understand why it's not woooooorrrrking! And him sighing in exasperation and then fixing things.
