You and Your Broken Single. My adventures in fiber. June 16, 2008. Posted by amysbabies under Uncategorized. I made some progress on the Galveston. I have one side and two corners done! I don’t know how much longer it will take, but the border is easily memorized and is good TV knitting. And I got another section done on the baby blanket. So this weekend we went out to spread the good news about knitting. I am a member of Sock Knitters Anonymous Group on Ravelry. We wanted a shot with some Saguaro cacti,...

You and Your Broken Single. My adventures in fiber. You and Your Broken Single. Start cheezy 50’s instructional film music now*. Here’s Amy. She is happily spinning along, plying these two singles. Narry a care in the world. One of her singles broke! Now what will she do? She could spit splice it, but that would mean she would have to let go of the yarn with both hands and that could be a big mess. And what if she is spinning Superwash or some other fiber that won’t felt? What should she do then? I am in...

These are a few of my favorite things. December 22, 2007. I’ve been busy the past few days, getting my Christmas stuff ready to go. I actually did wind up making some fabric bags to put my presents in. I started knitting a pair of socks out of the Amysbabies. Yarn that I got from her Etsy shop. Here’s the yarn, but no in progress sock picture because I’m going all drama queen and extending the anticipation. 🙂. And I picked out. He got it from an Etsy buyer called Look For Fiddleheads. All yarn is at lea...

Here’s how much I love my cat. Also, Iowa afterglow! January 4, 2008. And I were in the drive through line at Wendy’s, and when Travis pulled up to the order thing, we realized that our windows were frozen shut and we couldn’t roll them down. So we went across the street and wound up getting this:. Yep, we now have a Tim Horton’s. I folded it up and set it by the window in the craft room so she can use it until I actually get to the part where I need to sew it. Of really awesome fabric. I need to get...
Wake up and smell the caucus! | yarnzombie
https://yarnzombie.wordpress.com/2008/01/03/wake-up-and-smell-the-caucus
Wake up and smell the caucus! January 3, 2008. Over Christmas, I started knitting Travis a pair of socks out of the handspun. He had made. The yarn is the thickest I’ve ever used for socks (about worsted weight) so I’m knitting them on size 6 needles, which is kind of crazy. I got the first sock done last night, and thankfully, it fits. Also got around to taking pictures of the mystery yarn of forgetfulness. I honestly have no idea what the heck is in this yarn. This is not my beautiful house! Yeah, I...
Crafty New Year! | yarnzombie
https://yarnzombie.wordpress.com/2008/01/01/crafty-new-year
January 1, 2008. So, I’m a little bit behind. I’ve spent the last few days trying to get things organized for 2008. I think I’m finally there. If not, I’ll sort it out as I go. I’m not really the type to make resolutions, because I know I inevitably break them in an embarrassingly short period of time. This year, though, I’m going to do thing a little bit differently. To that end, I’m going to try to keep the following three things in mind:. Stop working on it! Pick out a new pattern! Hopefully, in sever...
My edible Christmas | yarnzombie
https://yarnzombie.wordpress.com/2007/12/28/my-edible-christmas
December 28, 2007. As I’ve said on here before, my family is all about the food. Besides our traditional Christmas Eve roast beef sandwiches and Zapp’s. Fest, we added a couple of new food related events to the agenda. The first was Waffle Night, hosted by Brian, Nikki, and Tyler. There were waffles with from-scratch fruit toppings:. And there was the bacon buffet, featuring three different types of bacon:. These were some kind of odd, nougat-y Italian candies. In downtown Columbus, and my mom and I had ...

Amy George's Working Wonders Blog
Amy George's Working Wonders Blog. Sunday, August 19, 2012. The Baby is Growing Up. My very first post on this blog, almost six years ago, announced the arrival of my third child - Lily Baker George. Tomorrow, that baby goes to kindergarten. Lily Baker came into this world looking, as my friend once told me, "like her daddy spit her out.". She was the most laid back baby, probably out of necessity since Ann Catherine was only 17-months-old when she was born. I have always loved that quality in her. To ma...
Amy's Back | Nobody said it would be easy they just promised it would be worth it
Nobody said it would be easy they just promised it would be worth it. Six Weeks Post Surgery. Marie Mouradian Window Designs Etc. Diams; July 17, 2012. Diams; 3 Comments. It’s surreal to us that Amy had this major surgery just over six weeks ago. She is feeling much better than we anticipated. The first few weeks at home are a blur to us. Time flew by in a blink. Each day was an improvement over the previous one. This is my favorite picture from the hospital. You can see the surgeon/patient connection.
