disguise yourself as yourself: November 2012
http://janelikesyou.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 19 November 2012. Hello for the first time in a while. I'm still not used to new Blogger! I can only apologise for my blogging laziness. In more productive news, this weekend just past I exhibited at my first ever Thought Bubble. Festival. :) I'd never been, not even as a visitor, but I'd been told that I should go so I leapt at the opportunity to get a table this year. I had a really great time! One highlight was meeting the fantastic Kate Beaton. Anyway, on a much smaller scale (! Here's a bonu...

disguise yourself as yourself: May 2012
http://janelikesyou.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 1 May 2012. Here are some developmental drawings for a commission I'm working on; the finished artwork will be a largish drawing featuring different sorts of fishes. The finished piece will be in colour, but I thought I'd play with some indian ink and a black watercolour pencil and experiment a bit as I familiarised myself with the shapes of some different varieties of fishy creature. I rather like the drawings in their own right. :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

disguise yourself as yourself: March 2013

Wednesday, 6 March 2013. Pastel Safari - screen prints. To my delight, I've joined Birmingham Printmakers. This has enabled me to get back into a screen-printing studio for the first time since leaving uni. I'm hoping to make good use of it in coming months; as a starting project to refresh my printing memory, I've made these small animal prints. :) I thought they would look good in nurseries or children's rooms so have placed them in cute, simple white frames. Saturday, 1 March 2014. Library - Day 1. I have been working on a project with the Henry Noble Library in Douglas. They have asked me to make the Library a bit interesting for the month of February. I chose to postpone mentioning anything online so as not to draw attention to it while it was happening. I wanted it to be something people stumbled upon, not something people seeked out. Monday, 10 March 2014. A drawing to celebrate spring. :) As well as being a developmental piece for a story I'm working on, this drawing was also an opportunity to experiment more in Adobe Illustrator. Fun stuff! Monday, 14 October 2013. Little Valkyrie - screen print. I've completed a new screen-print! It's inspired by fantasy, the love of books, and Norse legend. :) It features the sun, moon and stars, ravens, the branches of the legendary ash-tree Yggdrasil, a book featuring a serpent on the back cover, and a little Valkyrie with a fantastic hat. Click thumbnails for larger/higher quality pics). If you'd like your own Valkyrie to hang on your wall, take a quick look at the Whirlygig folksy shop.
