The opposite of dormant | Black Girl Gone

Living here. Born there. The opposite of dormant. After signing up for one of the social media usage/measurement programs, most of sites reported decent effort, as if they said, “We see you’re trying. And we appreciate the effort.” But my dear, sweet blog – the one that’s been with me longer than most – sat at the end of the report: “Dormant.”. 8220;Not true,” I thought. In fact, I. About the blog almost everyday. As a start, Black Girl Gone (the blog) is trying on a new look. What do you think? Address ...

And so I shall speak | Black Girl Gone

Living here. Born there. And so I shall speak. To be noticed within a sea of noticeable work, I’ve occasionally wished for a louder voice and bolder approach. And maybe some street cred? Short of changing my personality from introvert to extrovert, and significantly upping my coolness factor, I’ve been looking for input on how to play a better entrepreneur game. In spite of my doubts and hesitation, I’ve been dabbling in the speaking game, hosting workshops and giving some talks in the US and NL on...

About the Journey | Black Girl Gone
https://blackgirlgone.com/thegirl/thejourney
Living here. Born there. In July 2008, I spent eight hours in Amsterdam during a layover. I was charmed by the city. But I didn’t think too much of it. At the time, I was just becoming somewhat adjusted to living in New York, with no interest in making any moves in the near future. Could I live there? What if I moved to Amsterdam? What if I stayed in Amsterdam? As crazy as I thought it seemed, my nomad-spirited friends were all for it. That encouragement was all I needed. If you'd like to share:. I hope ...

Happy in The Hague | Black Girl Gone

Living here. Born there. Happy in The Hague. I’ve been living in The Hague (Den Haag) for more than 5 months now (whoa, what? It’s been enough time for me to experience a pleasant evolution of sentiment about my circumstances and surroundings. What started as a disappointed exodus from Amsterdam has turned into a delighted embrace of Agga (what the cool kids are calling it, apparently). My newly adopted city was a mere 45 minutes by train from Amsterdam, which I convinced myself was. Are you doing okay?

Living here. Born there. Predicting the future in the past about the present. I had no idea I would end up living in another country, building a business that centers on forgotten family histories. About the Girl | Black Girl Gone
https://blackgirlgone.com/thegirl
Living here. Born there. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1979. Since then, I have studied, laughed, traveled, loved, challenged, danced, complained, won, lost, cried, and celebrated. Fortunately, I don’t subscribe to the belief that one must have everything settled in life by age 30. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice. But it’s not necessary. And what does being settled even mean? Join me, won’t you? And then plenty of things haven’t changed. For example, some travel in Europe, a 10-month stay in S...Click t...
