A little of this and a little of that. Nana and Papa’s: Field to Table. When Kristen and the kiddos were at mom and dad’s in August, Sam helped with the corn harvest. Mom and dad grew Hopi blue corn last year, dried it on the cob, shucked it, ground it themselves, and are now making their “winter bread” (blue cornbread). Delicious. Beautiful. A little of this and a little of that. Fall comes on fast. October 7, 2016. The change from summer to fall always feels sudden. One minute we’re sweltering in 94 degree heat and the next we’re shivering in the low 70s (ha)! It’s been gloriously cool this week and we are loving it. We (I should probably just say “I”) no longer feel grumpy every time we’re outside…! On Wednesday we celebrate our three year anniversary. We’re getting away (just the two of us) this weekend, which will be fun. My, how it flies.

A little of this and a little of that. April 20, 2016. April 21, 2016. We’ve got weather in the upper 80’s this week. Thankfully it isn’t really very humid (yet! So we’ve enjoyed being outside. She’s already started wearing as little clothing as possible, as you can tell (note: the yellow tulip romper used to be. My mom saved some fun hand-me-downs of mine for Ruthie). Since then, summer is really gone, fall is here, and winter might never come (I hear that's kind of how it goes in Texas). Seb, Bruno, and I enjoyed a two week visit in Ohio with our family, brought back a beastly cold to remember them by, and got our health back just in time to savor the magical time of Advent.
