Ashleigh Gentle: October 2013
http://ashleighgentle.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
It was then a waiting game. I got treatment every night while I was in Spain and I cannot be more grateful for that. Special thanks to Alex Price who. Got me to the start line in London and had to put up with every day in doin. My running plan into London, safe to say we didnt know how things were going to go! I requested something good at the end of the timeline though. Pop- up breakfast cafe in Vitoria! I didn’t want to let them down. It was an 8.36am start, which was a big contrast to the usual la...

Ashleigh Gentle: July 2014

Early morning swim squad at Miami. Winter sunrises at home are simply awesome. Thanks to my beautiful girlfriends and family friends who gave me a fun farewell party :). We are staying in old town, Girona. I came out of the water mid pack and had some time to catch up on the bike. It seemed as though the front pack was riding hard and aggressively through the flat and technical course through Hamburg City. The race was over before I knew it but I am very satisfied with my result. It was a true test o...

Ashleigh Gentle: March 2014

Season starter in Mooloolaba. First reactions post Mooloolaba was disappointment, but reflectin. Back now, it wasn’t so bad. Athletes can be their harshest critic. Preparation had been mixed and a little conservative on the runnin. Front I had confidence in my swim and a rou. H start made for a bit of a battle the whole 750m. I definitely didn’t have the swim that I had envisioned. Racin. Is a whole different beast and although it’s so easy to. Et frustrated, every racin. Down the fast swimmers who had.

Season start in San Diego. Finally I was set to start my first race of 2013 after some delays due to my Plantar Fascia injury. It was the second time San Diego had held a World Triathlon Series race and for the second time I was happy to be back on the west coast of America. It was in the town of San Diego 39 years ago when the first ever triathlon was held and the wonderful sport of ours was born. Athlete dinner by the ocean after breifing. Post race Roller Coaster fun- bit of a dodgy ride :).

Ashleigh Gentle: January 2013
http://ashleighgentle.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
New Year, New Gear. Festivities over Christmas and New Years were fairly low key for me as my family live on either the Gold Coast or Brisbane and Josh was off for 2 weeks exploring beautiful New Zealand. Jealous! Stringing some consistent weeks together is something that I feel positive about. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that I am now part of the Subaru family, as their latest ambassador! Http:/ subaru.com.au/active/triathlon/get-know-ashleigh-gentle. Thank you for reading.

A lesson in patience. On the mend! I’ve been a bad blogger of late, but here goes a super quick rundown of 2013 so far! Foot woes, I am very much enjoying training and life on the Gold Coast. Last month I turned 22 and enjoyed an amazing banquet with some of my beautiful friends. If anyone is visiting and want a nice Greek feast, Helleinkas in Nobbys is highly recommended. Very indulgent, but you only turn 22 once right! Work with what you’ve got. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gold Coast, Australia.

Ashleigh Gentle: May 2014
http://ashleighgentle.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Reflecting back to the very start of the year, I wanted to better my 2013 season and remain injury free. I said I wanted to string a consistent 6 weeks of training together, something I was unable to do in 2013. It was a somewhat turbulent start to 2014. A couple of months into the year my former coach, Craig Walton, decided to move on from his coaching role. I crashed in Auckland to end up finishing 20. On our way over to Cape Town we were able to get a view of Antarctica , very cool! After Auckland I w...

Part I Commonwealth Games and Edmonton WC. I had written a blog a few days after I had competed at the Commonwealth Games, although obviously it never made the cut. Reading back on my words, I thought you would probably not appreciate the long and tedious recap of my racing experience. It was probably exactly what I needed, an opportunity to vent and share my thoughts, even though I was essentially just talking to myself! Awesome to witness Micheal Shelley win the Gold in the Marathon. It was also great ...

Ashleigh Gentle: November 2013
http://ashleighgentle.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Going back to my last post,. I had just arrived back in Australia and was enjoying time with family and friends after a week or so off training while I was in Las Vegas. Since then, I got back into some routine to try and finish off the year well at Nepean Triathlon and the Noosa Triathlon. Back to beach days and cafe hunting with Mum. Things started to improve; the little niggles started to go away and I was always making forward progression. I was very happy to finish 2. Thanks to BMC and Echelon Sport...
