INSIDE OUT: February 2012
http://violette-laporte.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Is needed today. Winter whites and greys! Extruding clay brings a lot of coloured fun: possibilities to be investigated. Un petit peu de couleur. Est nécessaire pour égayer cette journée tristounette. La blancheur et la grisaille de l'hiver! Le plaisir est coloré quand on extrude des bouts de pâte. Possibilités à investiguer. Played around with striped disks in the next pieces. Me suis amusée avec des disques rayés dans les prochaines pièces. Posted by Violette Laporte.

Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Just going to say that these quilty and eye-illusion pieces are all made with liquid polymer clay. Pas de bla bla bla. Un petit mot pour dire que ces pièces (courte pointe, illusion optique) sont fabriquées avec de la polymère liquide. Posted by Violette Laporte. Labels: liquid polymer clay. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Nothing but the truth. Well, today is the last day of winter and my thermometer says 25C : we still have snow. That is true! La vérité, toute la vérité. 3-Stuff I m...

pease pudding: July 2008
http://loisblackburn.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
The art of budget cooking. Saturday, 26 July 2008. I'm very excited, on my walk yesterday I found a hord of wild raspberries! Bushes and bushes of them. When we moved into the area, a local man explained that the raspberries where originally planted by the railway men at strategic points along the train track (now turned into walking/cycling/horse trail.). A good friend has just emailed me this recipe, which I will be trying out very soon. Thanks again Jenny. A few tablespoons of barley. Ps Today’s...

http://loisblackburn.blogspot.com/2008/11/haricot-bean-and-mutton-stew.html
The art of budget cooking. Monday, 3 November 2008. Haricot bean and mutton stew. Our butcher is supplying mutton again. They explained there hasn’t been a call for it in the last few years.…that’s until recent credit crunch times. This is recipe is delicious, Tunisian in flavour and slow cooked so the meat is really tender. Lovely served with rice, and lemon wedges. 2 onions, chopped. 3 tbs olive oil or veg oil. 3 garlic cloves, chopped. 750g (1 and half lb) mutton. 1-2 tsp sugar or to taste. I’m ...

The Cricket's Umbrella: Fish in a Tree
http://poetrycricket23.blogspot.com/2013/10/i-am-saddened-at-how-long-since-i-tried.html
A little of everything along the way. This journey we call . Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; its about learning to dance in the rain." Karen Willis. Sunday, October 27, 2013. Fish in a Tree. I am saddened at how long since I tried to write, but accept that the chaos of life too often deters us from the path we thought we wanted. There is a sign in a window on the campus I work at that simply says "Scatter Joy." Every time I pass it I smile. I am still the woman he loved and the best gift ...

The Cricket's Umbrella: Neglect begets
http://poetrycricket23.blogspot.com/2014/05/neglect-begets-never-to-bes.html
A little of everything along the way. This journey we call . Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; its about learning to dance in the rain." Karen Willis. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Never-to-be’s stunted spiritual growth in excessive demand by the resentful at the bottom of the stairs. This is the communal journey against the lie of history-father, of bitterness. How do we explain away stealing the voices of angels from children long blinded by the hopeless. Angel on the edge of wing-spread.

The Cricket's Umbrella: February 2012

A little of everything along the way. This journey we call . Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; its about learning to dance in the rain." Karen Willis. Sunday, February 12, 2012. Have you ever wondered about the profound difference between laundromats and bars? I mean other than the obvious of course. Hear me out. Windows. Windows tell us so much. Bars typically have few or no windows and are dimly lit. Laundromats almost always have at least one wall that is all glass and are brightly lit.

Art Alive: February 2010

Friday, February 26, 2010. My family loves me. They know I do not like wimpy ikebana. Stuff: two stems and a dry twig. Give me my flowers in loud bunches as big as good sized brooms. This way I have enough subjects to choose and paint. Better yet, paint them all together. Here, then. 24"x30", pastel on grey Canson. Thursday, February 18, 2010. One of my favorites. Couldn't bring myself to sell it. Silly, right? Thursday, February 11, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
