Conflicting projects get in the way. So does walking the dog, not to mention household chores. Pesky visitors. Just kidding! Anyway, I am trying to get in gear and focus on a large piece. But the lure of bright little things (do I have some magpie genes, deep down? Pulls me back to small compositions, very colourful. So there I go.

Hands Across the Water. An annual get-together that attracts visitors from several Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island. A kind Saturna captain gave us a ride to Village Bay, on nearby Mayne Island. The event was held in a seaside pavilion at Dinner Bay Park, near the grounds of the Japanese Garden. And Duncan, on Vancouver Island.

On Monday, I posted a picture of ferns growing on a very old tree, on the moist side of the island. A very tropical look.
