So that’s what I’ll show you. In Soweto, I was joined by three German women on a bike tour led by two native sons. We passed a shanty town (squatters build corrugated sheds on city-owned land, much like the favelas of Brazil); we visited two small grocery stores; we drank traditional sorghum beer in a shebeen.
