Atlantic New England Model Railroad - The Upper Yard

There's one inbound and one outbound track serving this yard, with the center track used as the switch lead. Classification has eight tracks and there are three outbound staging tracks. The lead to the engine facilites also circles the yard (a balloon track) allowing for the turning of any equipment. Rail painting will be (may be) done before other scenic details begin. I'm just not sure if the rail painting is worth the effort. ANEMRR - what is it? How it was built - with photos.

Tours and visits to real and model railroads. Pat and I were in Anaheim, California for a business convention. Well, I cannot resist the opportunity to do some railfaning. Can you? Here's a sequence of some photos we took. Yes, Pat was with me every time I went out! Providence and Worcester engine facilities. Just a few photos to show the building blocks for the scenery. I'll be using a combination of cardboard strips and styrofoam to build up tall areas. In other areas, styrofoam and other technics will be used. No paint has been applied to the outside layer. I did add coloring to the plaster so when it chips, it won't be pure white. The N scale layout will have two levels in. An area approximately 13' x 26'. The upper level mainline has 33 turnouts each using NCE Switch-It modules operating Tortoise switch machines. I hope to eventually build a CTC type control. NCE BD-20A block detectors are being installed on each block and I plan to include some type of timing circuit following the BD-20A's to smooth out their operation. All wiring goes to punch blocks to all for easy changes to be made. ANEMRR - what is it?

A great WordPress.com site. So devastatingly, things didn’t go to plan.
