http://czeched.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 30, 2006. Czech Republic is divided into two regions; Bohemia and Moravia. A. And I were on the road for two days this week to explore South Bohemia's most talked about towns. The sights that met us took our breath away. Awesome beauty of the red castle on a lake. Buying a postcard for Tatay and Botong. Having a blast canoeing with A. Though getting cooked by a 34-degree scorcher of a day. Storks on a chimney. Two boys tumbling over a root of an old tree within 10 seconds interval. Call "pon...

Czeched!: October 2006

Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Some of you people I know back in P.I. think that I lead a charming life just because I live abroad and in Europe no less. Nothing can be farther from the truth. Here’s how my usual week is like:. Wednesday: A repeat of Monday except I teach at the language school till 5. By that time I would be completely exhausted and can only think of crashing out. Still there would be some grocery-shopping to do, dinner to cook and whatnot afterwards. Friday: Preschool still where I also ta...

Saturday, August 26, 2006. Mamka’s birthday. We gave her this orchid. As she didn’t want anything else. She had to work in the afternoon so A. And I drove to the cottage in Svatoslav to hunt more mushrooms in the woods. We filled a basket of these. We arrived back in Prague late in the evening. Back to work. Holiday’s over. The days of getting up at 10am are so faraway now, like a tiny dot in the horizon. No kids yet. Just planning and lots of cleaning. Talk about multi-tasking. M...At Eva’s in the after...

Friday, May 26, 2006. Spring camp and chicken pox. Sumava, a must-visit place in the Czech Republic according to Lonely Planet, for its "large and tranquil forests undamaged by acid rain." It's where I was for four days, the longest four days of my life. Read on. Oil on mashed potatoes instead of butter? Rizoto that tasted like nth class rice? The view of the countryside from the window of my room. I saw a boy cow. The camp was 150 kms. from Prague. A. Posted by MariaLeila @ 12:06 PM. Well, it is. To...

Czeched!: April 2006
http://czeched.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 29, 2006. I’ve been living in Prague for over a year now. Wow, I never thought I would find myself in one piece after quite a time in the Czech land. One year passed with countless soap opera days and nights with me being the star of such dramatic episodes in my life, and A. Being the helpless viewer. I missed home terribly. I missed everything. The weekly manicure-pedicure-foot spa/massage I had. Sounds so shallow, right? 3 Working with an assistant/ secretary. 4 Food, food, and food.

Czeched!: January 2007
http://czeched.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 31, 2007. So what to do when you’re coming out of haze but stuck in the corners of your apartment? I decided I would blog away and answer Daisy's tag. She tagged me to write six random facts about myself. She also asked me to tag six friends to do the same. Problem is, I can't do that because though my friends are gods and goddesses in their own rights, some of them still have no idea what a blog is. That or they simply find no sense in blogging. . SIX RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME. 5 I have a...

Czeched!: November 2006

Thursday, November 30, 2006. The washing machine in our first rented flat became useless as I didn't know how to use it. A. Was equally as clueless as I was. We couldn't find its manual so I had to wash clothes by hands. Thankfully the huge bathtub provided a convenient place to do it except that my feet had to be soaked all the time I was doing the laundry. No amount of lotioning can rehydrate them after each session in the tub. I'm having enough of this. My first attempt of cooking an. 1 Tree Planting-...

Saturday, December 30, 2006. I received two books for Christmas. One was from A. With whom I was giving hints to buy me something from Roald Dahl. I originally wanted "My Uncle Oswald" which A. Himself read in Czech and instantly enjoyed, and which my French-British co-teacher was raving about for its hilarity. What I received has a couple of stories from Oswald's diary. " Switch Bitch. Is no less funny. I was laughing from cover to cover and immediately hailed Roald Dahl as. PS: I read on Inq7. Is now a...

Czeched!: June 2006

Monday, June 12, 2006. 2006, Argentina vs. Ivory Coast. I took this shot while watching the match on TV. Argentina won, 2:1. And later today in Germany, Czech Republic will play against the USA. You can bet that at 6pm in Prague, all other things will be in slow motion against the pounding noise of the live TV coverage of the match. I will watch it,too, and cheer for the Czechs. Yes, I am quite afflicted with the football fever here. It’s so contagious, it's quite difficult to avoid. Češi, do toho! By th...
