Well after what has been a nightmare year so far for me and my family things seem to be looking brighter and even the sunshine is making an appearance. Last time I went to Fishing Republic in Swinton I noticed they had some pins and when I asked the price was quite shocked. Only twenty odd quid, so I bought one. As it happens it was its last day serving as the landlords are not renewing the lease. What a shame, it was a great place to get your day tickets for the Ribble down to Calder foot, and you could even trot maggots for Grayling after 1st November on this noble stretch of freestone river.
