Anglophile Abroad: Dog’s Gifts – A Christmas Tail

http://www.anglophilelv.blogspot.com/2010/12/dogs-gifts-christmas-tail.html

Traveling around the world to Oxford, India and Tokyo. Friday, December 24, 2010. Dog’s Gifts – A Christmas Tail. Pokey looked up from the little girl to the towering fir tree piled around with lots of boxes and paper bits. If the little girl would just let him go, he’d be glad to mark the turf for her. He appreciated the effort. Pokey knew that when the tree went up and the boxes went out, it meant that his people would worship him appropriately again. If you liked this Christmas tale, take a look at Th...

Anglophile Abroad: March 2011

http://www.anglophilelv.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Traveling around the world to Oxford, India and Tokyo. Monday, March 14, 2011. Feels like I've been away for a long time. I feel like I've been out of the country for the last three months. Or maybe "down the rabbit hole" might be a better description. But Alice has returned from Wonderland and couldn't be happier to be back! She gets to see her boyfriend again during waking hours, she gets to expose her pale skin to sunlight, and she gets to go back to writing. Life is good. What can I say? Spice Monkey...

Traveling around the world to Oxford, India and Tokyo. Saturday, December 11, 2010. Livescribe Story: Lauren VanMullem, Journalist. A little over a month ago, LiveScribe asked me to be part of a special marketing effort to show people how others use SmartPens. They flew me to Phoenix to interview me on camera - The Journalist! For the Santa Barbara Independent - I never could have caught that last anecdote if I was writing it down by hand. Love my LiveScribe pen. Saturday, December 11, 2010. I am current...

Anglophile Abroad: October 2010

http://www.anglophilelv.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Traveling around the world to Oxford, India and Tokyo. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Likes, Loves, and Mutual Appreciation. I woke up this morning to my mother shouting from the next room "Jerramy Fine. You" Of course, I knew this was in the Facebook sense of the word but it took me a minute to figure out why the author of the book I just finished would pay me any attention. Then I remembered - I wrote a post in my personal blog, Chronicles of My Quarterlife Crisis. Was an incredible Halloween treat. 8220;A ...

Thursday, September 16, 2010. Sunday, September 12, 2010. The City of Learning and Burning. Varnasi is “a city of learning and burning,” our guide, Veena, tells us. There are four universities, and the city prides itself on the quality of its classical Indian music. The burning… I’ll get to that. The story of the Ganges, from ...

Sarktales: November 2006

http://sarktales.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

It's all about me. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. At long last, one of my travel articles is up and running. This one is a destination guide on Wellington. Pretty straightforward and boring, but it has a cute little picture of me at the end. http:/ www.gonomad.com/destinations/0611/wellington-nz.html. Next up should be my exploration of gay Melbourne in a print magazine, which will be online as well. I'll add that when it's up. Posted by sarika @ 4:32 PM. Sunday, November 19, 2006. Spice Monkey: Cabbage with turmeric

http://spicemonkey.blogspot.com/2012/01/cabbage-with-turmeric.html

Jan 19, 2012. Holy cabbage, batman! It's 2012. This blog has been revived again! I decided to try out the local CSA box and just my luck, they give me a giant head of lettuce. It's HUGE! There's no way I would ever buy this much cabbage. It's enough to feed a small country. Coincidentally I had a potluck to get to the following day and decided to make this classic indian style cabbage. It is generally paired with rice and something like this. Onion- yellow (or other)- chopped fine - 2 tbspn. 4 Sprinkle t...

Literary Death Match Oxford | My Wandering Days

https://aliteralgirl.wordpress.com/2009/11/09/literary-death-match-oxford

Now at www.aliteralgirl.com. Literary Death Match Oxford. 9 November, 2009 by Miranda Ward. I’m no longer just your average blogger/wannabe writer. I am now the official runner-up of Oxford’s very first Literary Death Match. Oxford’s very first what now? Half crazy, half brilliant (isn’t anything worth doing a little bit of both? Cooked up by Opium Magazine. And get behind it I did. Along with fellow competitors Megan Kerr. And Jake Wallis Simons. And songwriter extraordinaire Ben Walker. It’s slow going...

Sarktales: April 2007

http://sarktales.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html

It's all about me. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Omg, Tom from Myspace was just on American Idol! He's sooooo cute. And yes, I thought he was cute even before he was a gajillionaire. Tom from Myspace! Have to resort to freezing on a close up shot of a little black boy with a toothy smile and a snot-crusted nose? What is this, 1985? Posted by sarika @ 9:16 PM. Sunday, April 22, 2007. Sarktales: February 2007

http://sarktales.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

It's all about me. Saturday, February 24, 2007. It really is all about me. I've finally reached the 21st century and bought something on eBay. Okay, I've bought something once before- an awesome tin can that says Sareka that my brother pointed me to- but that was at least five years ago. But yesterday, I came across something even more awesome. A Sarika t-shirt! Posted by sarika @ 7:50 PM. Thursday, February 22, 2007. So why after putting us through 6 weeks of auditioning did he make it on the show?

It's all about me. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Yeah I texted a vote for Sanjaya. What of it? Posted by sarika @ 9:39 PM. Sunday, March 25, 2007. Old Procrasty McCrasterson is rearing her ugly head again. It's been a while since I've seen her. Since I came back from New Zealand and started working again, I haven't done so much freelancing, so these Sunday afternoon procrastination sessions have been much less frequent. . It's all about me. Monday, May 28, 2007. Now why on earth would I share pictures of a former flame with an anonymous? Reveal yourself first. Yeesh, it's as bad as Wilson. Posted by sarika @ 7:21 PM. As I'm watching Dirty Jobs while I work (and hubby is napping), I'm inspired to put my list in writing. So here goes. Not so much. I don't really like dancing nor am I into muscley guys, but it was an impressionable age so on the list he stays. 5 Hmm, I'm completely out of ideas. And am seriously debating...

Sarktales: October 2006

http://sarktales.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

It's all about me. Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Now for some South Island pics, if you can stand the excitement. We took the ferry to Picton, then drove two hours to Nelson. It's a very cute, very hilly little town. I've heard it likened to Napa, what with the sun and all the vineyards. Here's V looking very industrious:. Next up is Dunedin, the hilly version of Edinburgh. Posted by sarika @ 1:44 PM. Sunday, October 29, 2006. But then again, this is why I wish I were a more outdoorsy person:. I have loads ...

Saturday, August 23, 2014. I have a new website! It's been awhile since my last post, but for good reason. This past Spring, I attended job interviews, accepted a new position, defended my dissertation and graduated, moved to New York state, and created a syllabus for a new class! I'm now the Assistant Professor for Interdisciplinary and Digital Teaching and Scholarship. At SUNY New Paltz. And I'm teaching a 19th Century interdisciplinary digital humanities class themed around Sherlock Holmes's London.
