Different positions I have found Katherine in during the night. I almost tripped on her this time when she camped outside our bedroom. And apparently Genevieve is becoming K's new baby doll. Monday, November 5, 2012. I was determined to spend as little money as possible on our kids' costumes this year. Mason decided he wanted to be the same thing he was last year, Logan and Brady wanted to be zombies and Claire wanted to be Rapunzel. EASY! The only thing we ended up purchasing was wig for Claire. This year marks our most budget-friendly Halloween ever! I hope the kids will be this easy to please next year. This picture was taken before our ward Trunk or Treat. And this one on Halloween night.

In my opinion) I can't stand paying for photos of my kids before I can even see them, sending them to school looking picture perfect but not knowing what they'll look like by the time their class finally gets to see the photographer, and then dealing with the inevitable "picture retake day." Sunday, June 12, 2011. Hiking with the Fam. A couple weekends ago, Scott took us for a hike on a nearby trail he recently discovered (thanks to a friend and his calling as Webelos leader). The kids had so much fun exploring and climbing on rocks and branches. They weren't shy about jumping over streams and creeks. Even Brady joined in, and to our surprise was not afraid at all. Claire was perfectly content to pose for the camera. Mason even took some time to do a little golfing. We had a great time!

Spud Monkeys. and those who spawned them. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. One great trip to Oregon! These girls were troopers! We drove 23 hrs each way. We had a few casualties and carsickness, but we did surprisingly well. Everyone kept their cool even when the iPad smashed on asphalt. Yeah, thank goodness for insurance! The Friesses let us bunk at their house and Genet didn't even complain when I woke her up at 2am the first night to ask help cleaning up when Katherine threw up all over me. I was so proud!
