Slushbusters: One for the archives

The adventures of 7 children's writers as they critique, support, and cheer each other on while fighting their way to the top of the slush pile. Thursday, April 14, 2011. One for the archives. Back in 2008, when the Slushbusters blog was still new, Steph shared a post. Anyway, I'm keeping the original sign. It's a great reminder of how and where we began, and how far we've come, even on the days it doesn't feel like that. That is too funny! April 14, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Im hoping no one did! So fun to see ...

The Poop Deck: December 2008
http://madelynruth.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 15, 2008. A simple reminder for my budget-minded friends that toast is not just a little burnt crust on the side of a plate. Toast is a meal. We like challah French toast best, but in a pinch, white or wheat sandwich bread does just fine. This is basically cheddar cheese, doctored up and melted, over toast. Follow the link for a recipe. A friend of mine likes to put baked beans on toast. And let's not forget cheese toast! Feta and garlic toast! Saturday, December 13, 2008. The seeds we r...

The Poop Deck: Make-it Night
http://madelynruth.blogspot.com/2009/12/make-it-night.html
Friday, December 18, 2009. My favorite night of Hanukkah at our house is the self-instituted make-it night, where the gifts we give are the gifts we make. I LOVE crafts. I'm just not that good at making them, being too impatient for some of the finer details. Fortunately, I've never let that stop me. Here are the things I made the kids this year:. Hopefully you can recognize these guys without a label. My kids, at least, knew who they were! I used this free Lazy Days Skirt Pattern.
