http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2015/07/rattle-it.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2015. I am without the internets these days, so to keep you company, here's a big 'ol Western Rattlesnake. I've been seeing them EVERYWHERE! Four in a matter of a few hours the other day. Gotta watch your step out here in the sagebrush! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My photography sites (Print Sales). G-Funk and The Duke. Count your chicken! We're taking over!: Red in Tooth and Claw
http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2015/05/red-in-tooth-and-claw.html
Saturday, May 30, 2015. Red in Tooth and Claw. They're pretty cute right? Lookit those cute little dirty faces. So innocent, so sweet. Or not. The first time I saw the male, he was running along with a rabbit he had just killed. Well yeah, nature. Gotta eat, gotta feed those baby badgers. Watched him head to his burrow and then got lucky enough to see both male and female pop their heads out of the burrow. (excuse me, cute! June 6, 2015 at 7:23 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Count your chicken! We're taking over!: So plague-y, but so cute.
http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2015/05/so-plague-y-but-so-cute.html
Sunday, May 24, 2015. So plague-y, but so cute. Lookit this little yellow-bellied marmot friend. Lookit! So what if he might carry the plague, he's freaking adorable. I've seen a few around here, but this is the smallest one I've ever seen (also, the least mangy). Update kinda: I'm down in SE ID at the moment following sage-grouse and trying to learn all the vegetation out here for a couple months. YES! They are cute and remind me of the Groundhogs down the lane. May 26, 2015 at 4:40 PM. Frank Church Riv...

Count your chicken! We're taking over!: Daily Dose of Moooose
http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2015/04/daily-dose-of-moooose.html
Saturday, April 11, 2015. Daily Dose of Moooose. Hey lookit this guy! This is from a couple months ago when we attempted to go birding at Turnbull NWR in Eastern Washington. I think we saw a painfully disappointing 8 species, which was pretty ridiculous. However, this moose friend was a huge bonus, especially since I haven't seen these guys since 2007 or 2008. Moooose! This guy looked like he had recently shed his antlers. In other notes, I've been in civilization way too long and it's breaking me. Arans...

Count your chicken! We're taking over!: White-tailed Kite
http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2009/11/white-tailed-kite.html
Sunday, November 29, 2009. This is one of the many White-tailed Kites that hangs out at Fay's Slough, just down the road from us. They seem to flush way too easily so I was pretty happy when this picture came out all right. I took this last week, on an extremely windy day (I lost my hat twice! I always love seeing these birds, they're so regal looking! This is my first post for Bird Photography Weekly (below) - looks like fun! Labels: Bird Photography Weekly. November 29, 2009 at 10:05 PM. Count your chicken! We're taking over!: Sage-grouse Strut
http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2015/05/sage-grouse-strut.html
Friday, May 8, 2015. Finally had a chance to see a greater-sage grouse lek (and a sharp-tailed lek, too! Last week. It's nearing the end of lekking season, but there were still about 45 males (and a few females showed up) strutting their stuff. The first day I went out there were 40 mph winds and I couldn't even hear them (which is part of the experience! Here's a long series of his love dance :). May 8, 2015 at 9:01 PM. Thursday, April 18, 2013. The best people, like the best wines, come from the hills.". It sure is nice when those oaks bust out the green. (Title is an Ed Abbey quote). Bet they went green all at once! Love the different shades of green, all so vibrant. I didnt come from the hills, but its to the hills that Im drawn. Count your chicken! We're taking over!: End of the Season Blues
http://nutcase007.blogspot.com/2015/08/end-of-season-blues.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. End of the Season Blues. The field season was a good one, though I still prefer songbirds. Sage-grouse rock it, but the actual field work isn't quite as thrilling. Lots of driving, not enough wandering. I was pumped to do veg work this season because it actually meant I'd get to hike a few miles. Whaaatt? Bird people, you know what I mean. We don't necessarily get all gushy over veg measurements. (Below: Western Meadowlark and Brewer's Blackbird fledgie). August 10, 2015 at 9:11 PM.
