cottage instincts: How I Paint and Distress a Dresser: In a Somewhat Haphazard Fashion.
http://cottageinstincts.blogspot.com/2010/09/how-i-paint-and-distress-dresser-in.html
How I Paint and Distress a Dresser: In a Somewhat Haphazard Fashion. Clever title, eh? I got this supremely beautiful dresser from my friend Clara. And it's been languishing in my garage for a couple months. I just didn't know what I wanted to do with it, other than cover it in paint. BORRRRING. I've been wanting to try dry brushing with a couple colors on raw wood that has lots of grain showing, and hot dang! Now prepare yourself for a dramatic play by play including video of how the deed was done.

This Good Day: Artful Thurday Round 8 - Faux Lucite Posies
http://lifeonthisgoodday.blogspot.com/2010/02/artful-thurday-round-8-faux-lucite.html
Artful Thurday Round 8 - Faux Lucite Posies. I'm back.sort of.this is a very quick.down and dirty tutorial.what could I do if I had more than 15 minutes to blog? How can life be such a whirlwind? Here is my project. Begin with assorted paper punches, colored pencils, and frosted, ruffed up shrink plastic. Lightly color the rough side of the plastic and punch a small hole in the middle. Heat and shrink until flat.quickly, while still hot, pinch and form into a teeny, tiny, flower. March 1, 2010 at 2:09 PM.

At Home At Home: Apartment Therapy Offices
http://athomeathome.blogspot.com/2010/09/apartment-therapy-offices.html
I finally made it to the new AT offices to meet some of my blogging compatriots face to face. It was great. I got sandwiches with managing editor Aaron. And even had a chance to visit with Maxwell before he jetted off to Brazil. The office is exactly what you would expect: it feels clean and organized (it was so quiet too with everyone tap tap tapping! And there is great light, a great view and even plants. This one was an experiment with a new tilt shift app for the iPhone). Notes from Holly St. Interio...

africanteaparty: frolickinginflorals
http://africanteaparty.blogspot.com/2010/08/frolickinginflorals.html
Monday, August 16, 2010. I've noticed I'm dressing more and more like a girl these days. Not saying I've lost any of that crazy love I have for menswear inspired styling but I now incorporate the other end of the spectrum. Win win, as Stuart would say. Wore this outfit to a friend's birthday dinner and drinks. Went to a "Meet the Designer" champagne breakfast this Sunday gone past at Billie and Rose on King Street. Was fabulous getting to meet Anjali (one of the design duo) from twentysevennames. August ...

The Brass Petal: I do not look like Judith Light, thank you very much.
http://thebrasspetal.blogspot.com/2010/09/i-do-not-look-like-judith-light-thank.html
Friday, September 24, 2010. I do not look like Judith Light, thank you very much. So Ian tells me often that i dress like Angela from Who's the Boss. And then he goes off in Tony's bronxian accent, 'MO.na, JOna.tan.SamAn.ta'. Which is hilarious. But saying that I dress like Judith Light is not. Except I just bought this dress which has shoulder pads. Which i wore this week for the blogger lunch and the RUE party). It's by Joie and you can find it here. Yes its slightly 80's, but not like this:. Pure and ...

Period Homes: Another Deep South Master
http://periodhomes.blogspot.com/2010/04/another-deep-south-master.html
Another Deep South Master. Another architect doing great work in the South is Ken Tate from Louisiana. Ken, who was born in Mississippi, studied at Auburn. His work is spectacular. Ken, as others I have covered, does an incredible job of reinterpreting historic works to fit the homes sites or simply what he sees as fitting. Each of his projects are unique works that fit incredibly well into their settings. While I have seen many of his homes in person, this Norman style house I have not but love it.

http://oursuburbancottage.blogspot.com/2010/09/fall-faves-lets-get-cozy.html
Fall Faves: Let’s Get Cozy. Tuesday, September 14, 2010. I told you I’d be back today. You weren’t sure if you could believe me or not, huh? That’s okay. I did abandon you for a spell. It might take a little time to re-earn your trust :). Shall we break some pumpkin bread and look at some of my Fall faves? And nothing beats sitting by a candle glow wrapped in a plush, soft throw. This one. From JC Penney is looking pretty darn good to me. See? Doesn’t she look happy? Last year and I still love them....
