The Schouten Family: My new obsession…
http://carynschouten.blogspot.com/2013/02/my-new-obsession.html
Wednesday, February 6, 2013. My new obsession…. For Christmas I asked Micah for a cheap kit that would get me everything I needed to start learning to crochet. He listened and got me exactly what I wanted! Since then I’ve been spending every “free” moment working on projects. I’m certainly not professional by any means but here’s what I’ve managed to make so far:. A baby blanket for the new baby - I even added flowers for her to play with when having her tummy time :). Then I finally splurged and bought ...

Corn Fields and Tractor Wheels. Monday, January 13, 2014. Let the Family Fun Begin! What a difference a week makes in the winter time! Last week it was 40 below zero, and this week it is 50 above zero. Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we just had to take advantage of it. We have one of the heifers signed up for her first show in a couple of weeks so we thought it would be a perfect day to work with her. Our family is very excited to start show season. We have met so many great people showing c...

The Schouten Family: Random
http://carynschouten.blogspot.com/2013/03/random.html
Saturday, March 9, 2013. Logan is growing up way too fast. Its sad that I think this already, afterall in only 5 weeks he is going to seem a WHOLE lot older when I’m holding baby in my arms! Alexa had kindergarten round-up last week. Where has the time gone? I remember anxiously waiting her arrival and thinking she’d never get here, let alone be almost 5 years old! It was this deer in headlights type of a look that seemed to cry out as if I had just led my little lamb to the slaughter house! Needless to ...

The Schouten Family: March 2012
http://carynschouten.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 29, 2012. Alexa cracks me up! This morning Alexa was reading a book about a “new baby” and she brings it over to me. She shows me the page where the three new mommies are holding their new babies and points at one baby. She then asks me, “Mommy can I have a new baby like this, a real one, a tiny one, not a dolly but a baby, make it a baby sister okay? 8221; Oh me oh my! 8221; I said “Oh you want 2 little babies at once? You want mommy to have twins? 8221; LOL - I about fell off my seat!

http://carynschouten.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 27, 2012. On Thursday we planned to leave Coby’s house around 9am so that we would have MORE than enough time to get our rental car returned and check-in and go through security and find our way around everywhere before our flight was scheduled to depart at 3:20pm. We didn’t want to risk getting stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic and running out of time. Approaching the pass (it was foggy on this side of the mountains, clear and super warm on the other! We had an uneventful and quick trip ...

The Schouten Family: Catch up in pictures
http://carynschouten.blogspot.com/2013/03/catch-up-in-pictures.html
Saturday, March 9, 2013. Catch up in pictures. Now that I’m stuck on bedrest I thought I’d use the opportunity to update the blog:. The other day it was a sunny beautiful day (still a tad bit chilly but manageable) and the kids convinced us to take them on a walk to the farm. We piled on our coats, hats, and boots and headed out to see the baby lambs, calves, goats and other animals at Papa’s farm. I finally broke down and bought the toddler size pattern for the boots (the website was having a sale).

Friday, May 4, 2012. A Day off…. Micah got the day off on Thursday because he has to do chores this weekend…so I took full advantage of having him home! Here’s what I did:. Emptied the vanity and doll house from the yellow basement bedroom and brought them up to Alexa’s room. Moved the chair from Alexa’s room into the basement. Moved the King bed, nightstands, and the hope chest into the yellow bedroom (from the family room in the basement). Here’s a few pictures of the end results:. Bedroom in the basem...
