Just one more row. Saturday, December 30, 2006. I also made John a pair of fingerless gloves from Knitty.com's Fetching pattern. As you can see I altered the pattern a bit so that there is no cable at the knuckles (looks more manley that way) and I continued knitting to extend the length of the gloves over his knuckles. He also just loved these. Men are just so hard to knit for. Labels: Last 2006 post. Wednesday, December 27, 2006. End of Year Charity Crafting. Socks for Soldiers: 49 pairs of slippers.

http://mamapurls.blogspot.com/2007/05/green.html
Thursday, May 10, 2007. L and I went on a wild flower walk. We found some of my favorits. We also found some Solomon's Seal and May Apple but they were not in bloom. As for my knitting.the prayer shawl came back to me (not really knitted on), I put L's sweater on hold and started a summer shawl with a ruffled edge. Cast on 800 stitches! I'll take photos later. I thought Spring was here too but the weather man just announced 10cm of SNOW tomorrow. Your pictures are great. May 15, 2007 at 5:01 PM.

Newton's knitting: Leap
http://newtonsknitting.blogspot.com/2009/09/leap.html
Friday, September 11, 2009. A teacher read this essay today for the high school students, in remembrance of September 11. And though posting essays/poetry/etc. is not usually my "thing," I found it very moving. So I thought I'd share it. The poem is by Brian Doyle, and I believe it first appeared in the American Scholar magazine. I found it through PBS. A couple leaped from the south tower, hand in hand. They reached for each other and their hands met and they jumped. The mayor reported the mist. No one ...

Newton's knitting: April 2009
http://newtonsknitting.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

I can get rid of the folder of picture attempts I had named "battle of the banner." No, I'm not kidding. I forgot to put Newton in it, though . . . . Poem in your pocket day. I have to confess - I fall into that category of people who would not ordinarily read poetry. I certainly. Speaks to me, and. So, in order to share a poem today, I am pos...
