Flesh and Bones: June 2010
http://fleshandbones1.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 25, 2010. I recently stumbled upon this extremely unique and interesting case in the Journal of Forensic Science. Immediately upon reading it, a number of thoughts played out in my mind. First was, this guy had some balls. Perhaps it can be credited solely to the drive of sexual compulsion, but to follow-through on such an elaborate and risky bondage scenario- alone- takes a pair (irrespective of the inherent foolishness). What did he plan to do if something went wrong? Monday, June 21, 2010.

Monday, August 27, 2012. Angels Sang to Me (Just Before I Fell to the Ground, Unconscious). This preview is an instrumental interlude from my new project, Caligo. The title and mood allude to Robert Schumann's mental breakdown - just before being committed to an insane asylum - where he reported hearing celestial angels dictate to him a work composed by the dead spirit of Franz Schubert. Olio / Etcetera: A Comfortless Philosophy
http://olioetcetera.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-comfortless-philosophy.html
Saturday, October 6, 2012. I shall be told, I suppose, that my philosophy is comfortless - because I speak the truth; and people prefer to be assured that everything the Lord has made is good. Go to the priests, then, and leave philosophers in peace! Arthur Schopenhauer, Studies in Pessimism: On the Sufferings of the World. From The Works of Arthur Schopenhauer, Walter J. Saturday, May 11, 2013. KDE: 1854 LONDON CHOLERA OUTBREAK. Kernel Density Estimation (KDE), also known as a "heatmap," is a wonderful way to graphically convey epidemiological data for outbreaks of infectious disease. At a glance, one can discern likely points of origin, routes of transmission, and density by area. KDE maps are attractive and fairly easy to render in QGIS, but it can. Cell size X,Y: 1,1. Friday, April 27, 2012. Edmund Burke described obstinacy as a great vice which was frequently the cause of great mischief, for it is allied to constancy, fortitude, fidelity, firmness, and magnanimity- all commendable virtues, which if practised to excess lead to obstinacy, the one passion that never recovers from failure. It is the pathway to that narrowness of mind which leads to self-conceit. Besser, H. Perseverance: How to Develop It. Funk and Wagnalls Co.: London, 1916. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
