The world of art, design, interiors and all things beautiful. Roots and leaves themselves alone. November 27, 2014 by danielleboudrot. I could study these paintings every day for the rest of my life yet still see something new to appreciate and discover. They are a masterclass in composition, color, texture and beauty. How a few simple objects can transform into a masterpiece. Still life with self portrait emil carlsen. Still life with pepper and carrot william merritt chase, 1900. So beautiful, truly a ...

Saturday, September 18, 2010. While poking around in the front garden today I was reminded of one of the very first things I was taught in Horticulture school. And then I patted myself on the back for being big enough "nerd" to actually remember the term! It's this simple kind of beauty that really brightens my day. Enjoy! Tuesday, September 14, 2010. I get a lot of requests for "blue" blooms, which can be a bit challenging! So I thought I'd do a piece on blue flowers and when they are available. This is...

Saturday, May 29, 2010. A French Inspired Bridal Bouquet. I absolutely adore all things French. From classic Provencal meals, to the rustic country side and of course the luscious gardens and floral displays, I often find myself smiling and full. One thing the French are famous for is monochromatic designs and simple elegance. I love how timeless and romantic an all white bouquet is. When everything is left to texture and form - I am enchanted! Leaves exemplifies the love and lust of a Paris evening.

Monday, June 7, 2010. Succulents, Pitcher Plant and Peonies. I had so much fun last week with a very special arrangement. I had a request for a vibrant centerpiece using bright pinks and oranges. Instead of using only fresh cut flowers, I incorporated living succulent plants (. Plants which add an incredible amount of texture. I'm amazed how important texture is for color and unity. I love adding unexpected elements like the fun and handsome Pitcher Plant! A Classic Preppy Wedding in North Carolina.

Thursday, November 11, 2010. 28th St Between 6th and 7th Ave. It's been awhile since I've added to the blog, what with wedding after wedding (pics to come) and planning upcoming events, my inspiration has been a bit one dimensional. However this week has brought a fresh awakening - I've been cruising around NYNY and even though I got to sit front and center at Jimmy Fallon last night, I have to say going to the Flower District today has made the whole trip for me. Meet friendly shop kitty. A little side ...
