104年智慧局受理專利申請73,627件，較上年減少5.6%，三種專利申請件數，發明專利 44,415件 、新型 21,404件 及設計 7,808件 ，均較上年持續下降 如圖1 ，減少的數量主要是在國人申請的部分 如圖2、表一 ，呈現謹慎保守走勢，應與國人的專利申請採嚴謹篩選以及布局策略改變等原因有關 外國人在我國申請專利部分，日本三種專利申請13,495件，仍穩居第1，在申請發明及設計專利分別係12,284件 如圖3 及1,090件 如圖4 ，均為前五大申請國家 地區 之首。 在我國專利申請件數排名長年居首位的台灣科技大廠鴻海精密工業股份有限公司，專利申請件數從99年 4,412件 逐年下降，103年更大幅減少一半以上，104年已銳減至千件以下 659件 而外國法人部分，由美國英特爾公司以956件申請案於104年度排名第1。 延長設計專利權期限 (104.4.30公聽). 修正方向 由現行的 自申請日起算12年屆滿 修正為 自申請日起算15年屆滿。 導入設計專利延緩公開制度 (104.4.30公聽). 未來方向 將研擬 延緩審查 及 加速審查 兩方案以符合外界的需要。
