aphasia
Being affected by aphasia influences the total life experience. Individuals may no longer be able to communicate, reason, think, control emotions, or attend to tasks. Not being able to communicate in the normal way brings on a devastating sense of isolation for people with this disorder and it often causes severe depression. Persons with aphasia along with their spouse or caregiver are often very frustrated because they have been given little hope form others including health care professionals.
