Hemlock Woolly adelgid, control, tree and plant health care - Boone, Banner Elk, NC, North Carolina - Appalachian Tree Care

http://www.appalachiantreecare.com/index.htm

We employ an integrated, organic approach to caring for the landscape that starts with the soil and roots and extends to the tip of each leaf. We feel strongly that the trend toward the overuse of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in our landscapes is dangerous, destructive, and unnecessary. This is why we are proud to offer the area's only organic soil building program. Our system is based on the simple principle that healthy soil produces. Healthy trees and plants. Learn more about what we do!

Appalachian Treeworks - Treenware and Dulcimers in the Appalachian Tradition

Arly settlers in the Southern Appalachians made most of what they needed from the forests around them. Trees were plentiful around a 19th century homestead, but nothing was wasted. Wood that wasn't good for timber-framing could be used for fences, furniture, carts and sledges. Smaller pieces made roof shingles and treenware, and anything left over was fuel for the fireplace. They even made their own music, with instruments they crafted themselves.
