A Flagon of Ale: February 2012
http://flagonofale.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A Flagon of Ale. Beer drinking and brewing from the Twin Cities. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. This past weekend was Winterfest. The sister festival to fall's Autumn Brew Review. Where ABR is generally packed and outdoors, Winterfest is a bit more austere, hosted in the beautiful Minnesota History Center, and limited to 700 tickets. But it seems be generating a lot of interest and excitement and I haven't heard much backlash. Perhaps some will succumb to market forces etc, but so far, it seems, so good.

A Flagon of Ale: August 2011
http://flagonofale.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A Flagon of Ale. Beer drinking and brewing from the Twin Cities. Monday, August 15, 2011. A request to bars. Please, can we start serving beer in the proper glassware? I think we've outgrown the straight-sided shaker pint glass. It's fine sometimes, but if we're going to take the time to serve beer from 3 different continents (and likely at $6 a pint) it's not too much to ask to have them served in different glasses is it? Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Brew City, USA. Either way, I'll surely be back to che...

Bottles of Barley: Bottles of Barley: The Reboot

Scribblings on Craft Beer (and beer at large). Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Bottles of Barley: The Reboot. It's time to reboot the blog! Not in a design sense (at least not yet) but in focus and content. I started this blog around the planning and chronicling of a beer trip to Belgium. That thrust kept things going for awhile. But that trip was almost two years ago and the blog has lost focus and steam. Big time. My other blog serves as therapy. Out of the Cellar. Once a month: These are the posts I love the ...

Bottles of Barley: Tasting Notes: Lancaster Milk Stout
http://bottlesofbarley.blogspot.com/2010/06/tasting-notes-lancaster-milk-stout.html
Scribblings on Craft Beer (and beer at large). Monday, June 7, 2010. Tasting Notes: Lancaster Milk Stout. Brewery: Lancaster Brewing Company. Date Poured: April 2010. Pours an opaque brown with hints of mahogany highlights about the edges, topped by a thin creamy (but persistent) brown head. Smells prominently of roasted barley with a milkiness (or lactose) providing the background for the mocha-like aroma. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Inventory of the Beer Cellar as of 6/6/2010.
