An experimental variety, small but deliciously sweet. A favourite of our customers and our grandchildren. Silken has a transparent yellow skin and the flesh is juicy and sweet. They tend to be one of our smaller varieties of apple, perfect for lunch boxes! Excellent eating sweet, crisp, and very juicy. Honeycrisp lives up to its name with lots of flavour in every bite. Macs make great eating and cooking apples. McIntosh makes for 'soft' and mellow sauces and nice, juicy pies.

We are both botanists and it seemed a fascinating choice. In 2008 about 1/4 acre was planted in a spot where apple trees had been removed. In 2010 we planted 3.5 acres on the East side of the farm. Apple Hill Lavender is situated on a historic, century-old farm featuring rolling lavender fields set amidst a bountiful, third-generation apple orchard. In addition to Apple Hill Lavender's wide selection of handmade natural lavender products, farm-fresh apples are seasonally available at the on-site Carriage House Lavender Boutique. Which may come as a surprise to any of you who have met me at craft shows or classes or exhibitions. Then again, maybe not. I'm proud of myself for managing what I did, and I had an absolutely amazing show! I guess this is where burn out can become a serious issue. I've been trying to do all the things you are supposed to do. I do yoga. I'm pretty sure there's no easy answer. One of a Kind.
