Not all who wander are lost...: 3 more months!

Not all who wander are lost. You read that correctly; I will be home in less than 3 months! Now concerning work-related activities:. I have also started teaching Junior Achievement at two different elementary schools. It's really interesting to be in a Senegalese classroom setting; the kids are very disciplined and respectful, yet outside of school, they can be so rude and loud. It's just nice to see the children in a different setting :). Remember that huge tree nursery that I did last year? Packets to ...

Not all who wander are lost. To celebrate my one year anniversary in Senegal, I took a vacation to Greece :) I have always wanted to go to Greece, so this seemed like a perfect time to do so. Greece was amazing! I had such a blast, and ate so much food! I gained 4 pounds in 10 days lol). I arrived in Athens on a Saturday and spent most of the evening just wandering around. On Sunday, I went up to the Acropolis and then spent the rest of the day visiting some of the other ruins sites. I had just spent the...

Not all who wander are lost. And so thoughtful too! I ate half the chicken and then gave the rest to my family to eat after their meal. It just makes them look as happy as I hope they are. Not all who wander are lost. At the beginning of February, Julia came out to visit Dahra for my birthday and then we headed to Lampoul for the weekend. Lampoul was beautiful; sand dunes, camels, and sleeping in a nice big tent! It was so peaceful there.I hope to go back before the end of my service. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Not all who wander are lost. For Thanksgiving this year, I went to Linguere to celebrate with my Linguere “family”. This Thanksgiving was much better than last year (last year, I had the flu), and I am so grateful that I was able to spend that time with some amazing people. On Thanksgiving, I headed over to the missionaries’ house to help finish cooking the food and entertain their youngest child again. By 2:30, everyone else had shown up and Thanksgiving lunch was ready to eat! My plate - first round :).

Not all who wander are lost. I have now finished up most of my work in Dahra :) I still need to show up to a ceremony and hand out some certificates and show my replacement around, but other than that, I am done! These past two years have been an amazing experience, and I am truly glad that I have had this opportunity. Granted, there have been times so frustrating with work projects or culture that I just wanted to quit and return home; however, I am glad that I stuck it out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
