Some of these images were commissions for the WWF Forests For Life others just done for the love of the place, Bialowieza in Eastern Poland being one such place. Bialowieza is the last 450 hectares left of a primeval forest that once covered all of Europe. Accordingly it has been designated an UNESCO world heritage site populated with Bison, Wolves, Beavers, Otters and as many birds species in the forest as there are in the whole of the UK.

I was prepared to have an open mind but it all became clear that there was something to hide when myself and the Guardian journalist I was travelling with found ourselves being followed by Monsanto spooks.
