Old G Dawg's Labyrinth: September 2010
http://gdawgslabyrinth.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 15 September 2010. Another Self Portrait もう一つの自画像. Recently I haven't been posting that much, and for that I apologise. Reasons are, my wife one month ago finally came over to the UK, after a two month delay, and at the same time we moved into a new apartment in Queen's Park, London. So I've been a little preoccupied - enjoying the good life, dining out, walking about the big city, and catching up in general. Self Portrait, oil, 8 x 10 inches. Links to this post. Thursday, 9 December 2010. Murakami short story from the Spider Monkey collection]. Please don't ask me anything about Roppongi. Concerning the area of Roppongi, I have absolutely nothing I can teach you. In that instant of exiting the train, I am already confused. Is it Kamiyacho that is Roppongi? Or is this Roppongi? Which one is the Defense Agency? Within ...

About Ishikawa Takuboku and a book of poetry he wrote, On Knowing Oneself Too Well. While reading the review, and in particular the sections from Ishikawa's poem about smoking, I was put in mind of a poem by Apollinaire, Hôtel. I tried searching for Oliver Bernard. My room resembles a cage,. The sun puts his arm through the window. Junior High,...

Old G Dawg's Labyrinth: June 2010

Sunday, 20 June 2010. The three following translations I have taken again from Haruki Murakami's collection of ultra short stories, Night of the Spider Monkey. I chose these three specifically because they all contain the character of Noboru Watanabe. Of course, this is a name Murakami uses quite freely in his writing, and I don't think they are all supposed to be the same person, even if they do share a name. I translated from the same collection.]. As Noboru Watanabe repaired the drainage pipe on the s...
