Wonderful wild women in hats | What is a hat?
https://whatisahat.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/wonderful-wild-women-in-hats
Wonderful wild women in hats. August 28, 2014. In 1908 the reputation of the suffragettes (and their hats) led to laws being passed that forbid women from using hat pins longer than 9 inches -just in case they were used as weapons. As a result the scale of hats worn by suffragettes was toned down, just a little. Wonderful wild women in hats may we be them, may we know them and may we raise them. Yes- I know that isn’t the saying but it really should be). What is a a hat? August 28, 2014 at 10:59 pm.

8220;It’s too windy for a hat”. April 23, 2014. In 1962 the Victoria Racing Club instigated the ‘Fashions on the Field’ event in order to ‘woo more women to the races’. Originally the competitions aim was to find the ‘smartest dressed women at the Carnival within economic restraints’ (hilarious to think of the differing economic restraints there are these days when people are shopping for their spring carnival outfits. $400 hat, $200 shoes….no worries! 8220;You can’t go to the races without a hat! https://whatisahat.wordpress.com/2014/01/25/find-a-cone-and-pick-it-up-and-for-the-day-youll-have-good-luck
Find a cone and pick it up and for the day you’ll have good luck! January 25, 2014. 8220;This year remember; if you find a traffic cone, put it on you head.” – Wise friend (arguably). With 2014 well and truly underway I accepted the challenge. Along with traffic cones I will be experimenting with other traditional and nontraditional hats. After all – if it has shape and covers my head, it’s a hat…right? One thought on “ Find a cone and pick it up and for the day you’ll have good luck! Slip, slop, slap!

Glamorous?! | What is a hat?
https://whatisahat.wordpress.com/2014/02/11/glamorous
February 11, 2014. One of those glamorous Faux Fur Headbands” – said no one ever. 8220;Glamorous faux fur headband”…now that’s not something you hear every day! It’s practically an oxymoron. For a reason unbeknownst to me the Faux Fur Headband is a must have accessory on the English equestrian scene. Apparently it looks smashing with tweed. It comes in styles such as marmot, brown bear, lynx, panther and snow fox. Seriously. However, I would say that I look pretty fabulous. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Slip, slop, slap! | What is a hat?

Slip, slop, slap! March 3, 2014. 8220;Slip, slop, slap! Slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen and slap on a hat, slip, slop, slap! It just wouldn’t be summer in Australia without a daggy hat, a big pair of sunglasses, a sun smart shirt and the reek of sunscreen. With skin cancer accounting for around 80% of cancers, it is understandable why we’ve got a little jingle to remind us what to do. Summer in Australia – day to day life is like an extreme sport. 2 thoughts on “ Slip, slop, slap! You are comment...

Let's go adventuring! December 23, 2014. December 23, 2014. Then, one guy James (a walking, talking Egyptian-everything book) got super nerd-excited about something. We went down a path with a giant arched door. He said that this Serapeum had not been open for a while and we get to go inside! Massive day of exploring, despite the blaring heat of the sun and sand, it was an amazing day! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Let's go adventuring! WEST BANK: Valley of the Kings, Deir El-Bahri and Medinet Habu. January 7, 2015. This slideshow requires JavaScript. A bunch of us flew to Luxor for a 3 day excursion and we visited so many places with so many ancient stuff! It was ridiculous how much there was to see. We didn’t get to see everything because of time and it was too hot! The microbus travels as safely as the rest of the Egyptian traffic, and with the door open. Some of the buses didn’t even have doors! We paid a separ...
