The list was created on January 25, 1844 and signed by Antonio Rey, the prefect of the district of Paso del Norte. “C” stands for “casado” or “casada” (married) and “S” stands for “soltero” or “soltera” (single). In 1733, an official record was created of soldiers receiving salaries at several presidios in the north of Nueva España. Below is a listing of men who received salaries at the Presidio of Paso del Norte. Almost all of these men were mentioned in contemporaneous church records of Paso, and many were descendants of those who fled the “Pueblo Revolt” of 1680. Capitan Don Joseph Valentín Aganza.
