Compliance with relevant laws and regulations is a minimum baseline and underpins our animal care standards. National regulation nr. 279/2002 on animal experiments is according to the national law on animal welfare nr.15/1994. The Icelandic regulation on animal experiments is based on directive 86/609/EEC.

The housing of animals is according to international and national laws and guidelines. All experimental procedures and animal housing is performed at the highest standards and in strict accordance with the recommendations of the European Community and the National Animal Research Committee.
