A Reader's Rapture

A blog by a self declared book geek and snob, dedicated to everything bookish. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The End of Mr. Y. A cursed book. A missing professor. Some nefarious men in gray suits. And a dreamworld called the Troposphere? This book had such great potential at so many points and it just did not pull through in any way for me, however, I think this is ultimately an issue of preference and not so much of quality. A Reader's Rapture: Too busy...

http://www.areadersrapture.blogspot.com/2015/08/too-busy.html

A blog by a self declared book geek and snob, dedicated to everything bookish. Sunday, August 2, 2015. I am fully aware that I just. Posted that I would be updating my blog with all of these developments with Dominic, but I am at the lake until the middle of the week, and I was exhausted after coming back from Regina, and then I had to turn around and pack up everything again to head to the lake. SO! I figure it's the perfect time for a bookfession. I haven't done one in over a year, so it's time.

A Reader's Rapture: April 2015

http://www.areadersrapture.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

A blog by a self declared book geek and snob, dedicated to everything bookish. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. A Trial in Germany. Has any one else been reading about the trial of Oskar Groening? He is a former SS Officer that had worked at Auschwitz during the Holocaust and is currently on trial having been charged with 300,000 counts of accessory to murder, at the age of 93. I think I have some very strong feelings about this trial that may be very unpopular. The media would go crazy with that! The other thin...

http://www.areadersrapture.blogspot.com/2015/08/dominics-first-year.html

A blog by a self declared book geek and snob, dedicated to everything bookish. Monday, August 10, 2015. Only two days late, so not bad! After Saturday's birthday party I was a tad bit on the exhausted side and just needed to recover on Sunday, and so thus the post comes out today. Long time coming! So there is a lot to include in this one. We also had his G-tube clinic to just check how things are going with that, and everything looks great. So nothing really to report there. Now for the fun stuff! A for...

A Reader's Rapture: November 2014

http://www.areadersrapture.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

A blog by a self declared book geek and snob, dedicated to everything bookish. Friday, November 28, 2014. We are now back in S'toon after a surprisingly short trip for Dominic's surgery. Apparently Dominic is now a pro at surgery, I don't know if that is really a good thing or not. So my apologies while my blog becomes quite neglected over the holidays. Perhaps I will be able to post more in the new year, but don't hold your breath! I know I won't be ;). Monday, November 24, 2014. So I was pissed. But I ...

Flippin' Fabulous- A Reader's Record

Not So Fab (2). Not For Me (1). Whatcha Think About Wed. Wednesday, February 20, 2013. When Book Quotes Meet Reality. I've had a bad weekend to say the least. I've experienced my first funeral as an adult and as a parent. It was of a seven week old baby (not mine.) It is heart breaking - my heart still hurts for so many reasons including the fact that the father of the baby referenced my son during the funeral. Anyway, I just finished Notes From Ghost Town by Kate Ellison. Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

Friday, February 22, 2013. The Light Between Oceans. Mixed emotions make me hesitate to write about The Light Between Oceans. I liked it. I really did. But I also disliked it. Someone who reviewed this book commented it was a “high concept” book. In that area, I disagree. As I read the book I felt I had read it before which insists the storyline is not unique. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Policy for the People. The values of liberty, equality, and social justice (fraternite) are realized in two ways of understanding equality-as both liberty of the individual to pursue opportunity, and provision of a level playing field. Also embedded in this intertwined credo is the principle of the social body of which each individual is a part and outside of which no individual can survive.".
