A Real Taste of Richmond: Kuba Kuba
http://arealtasteofrva.blogspot.com/2012/06/kuba-kuba.html
A Real Taste of Richmond. A Non-Foodie Guide to Richmond Restaurants. Saturday, June 30, 2012. Photo from Kuba Kuba's website, by Chris Smith. Rating: 3.5 stars. Family photos as art! Specials on chalkboards . turning around in my booth to get this shot. And he was ecstatic about it once he got his beer. In fact, he was adamant that I give this place an extra half star just for the pony bottles . very adamant about it . as in he would not stop talking about it the rest of the night. Honestly, I am not a ...

A Real Taste of Richmond. A Non-Foodie Guide to Richmond Restaurants. Thursday, March 15, 2012. Rating: 2.5 stars. I'm sorry but no cheeseburger and french fries is worth $12. So Burger Bach (pronounced "batch", apparently it's a New Zealand thing), is the new restaurant that is occupying the former Ellwood Thompson Cafe. I have never been to the Cafe so I can't compare the two, but let's just say I wasn't that impressed. But no sound, and there is only one wall of TVs, so if you are facing the opposite ...
A Real Taste of Richmond: February 2011

A Real Taste of Richmond. A Non-Foodie Guide to Richmond Restaurants. Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Rating: 4.5 stars. Although Tripps is a chain restaurant, in my opinion it is the best non-overpriced steak in town. If you like good food at a decent price (a little more expensive than your normal family restaurant), this is the place to go. There are locations on Midlothian and West Broad St. so it is accessible to everyone. To seafood and pasta, as well as burgers, along with a few daily specials.
A Real Taste of Richmond: Stella's
http://arealtasteofrva.blogspot.com/2012/04/stellas.html
A Real Taste of Richmond. A Non-Foodie Guide to Richmond Restaurants. Thursday, April 19, 2012. Do you like Greek food? Wait, do you just like food? Then you need to go to Stella's! Luckily I went here with Restaurant Club and we decided to split two bottles of wine and a couple of appetizers, as well as each get an entree, so I definitely got to try alot of food. Our waitress was extremely helpful and friendly, explaining what menu items were like and making recommendations. It was very refreshi...They ...
A Real Taste of Richmond: Mezzanine

A Real Taste of Richmond. A Non-Foodie Guide to Richmond Restaurants. Friday, February 11, 2011. The location is good and having a free parking deck right across the street was very helpful, especially since it was freezing outside! Much easier than trying to park for some of the Fan or Shockoe Slip/Bottom restaurants. We had made reservations but for a Wednesday night it definitely wasn't necessary, even though the restaurant is rather small. I had ordered the braised beef spareribs, which after seeing ...

Learning something new everyday! Monthly Archives: May 2013. May 28, 2013. Cicadas, Forsythia and Yellow Iris. Well, if you are on the East Coast, you are no doubt aware of the Cicada love fest that is currently in progress! Our house sits on a newly cleared lot that was fully forested, so 17 years ago, the cicadas did their thing and b-b-b-billions of cicada eggs were laid. Consequently, we are … Continue reading →. Learning something new everyday! Monthly Archives: February 2013. February 20, 2013. Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake. Yesterday, as part of the VDACS inspection process, I was asked to make and bake an item while the inspector was present. I chose to make this fabulous cinnamon swirl coffee cake, because a) it bakes up beautifully and b) it smells so darned good while it’s baking! We use a high quality Vietnamese cinnamon … Continue reading →. February 19, 2013. February 17, 2013. Vegetarian Split Pea Soup.

Halloween Cookie Pops | The Newbie Farmstress
https://bellingtonfarm.wordpress.com/2013/10/17/halloween-cookie-pops
Learning something new everyday! October 17, 2013. Had some fun yesterday at the Farmville Area Farm Market. We only have a couple of market days left before Halloween, so I decided to jump in early to start the fun by turning sugar cookie rounds into cookie pops! Once they were dried, I cut a hole in the bottom of my cookie bag and slid the cookie in, stick first, and tied the top. Added some orange and black ribbons and we were ready to hit the farm market! Trick or Treat, ya’ll! Spider Web Cookie Pop.

Learning something new everyday! Monthly Archives: March 2013. March 31, 2013. Weather forecasters promised that yesterday would be a beautiful Spring day with lots of sunshine. With that promise in mind, I planned a day in the outdoors. Friday night I got a few pansy plants and those were planted close to my forsythia bush. March 26, 2013. Crabapple “trees”. March 21, 2013. A “Retro” Casserole !! | The Newbie Farmstress
https://bellingtonfarm.wordpress.com/2014/02/25/a-retro-casserole
Learning something new everyday! February 25, 2014. A “Retro” Casserole! Incidentally, this one particular recipe that I was craving also fell into the “retro” category for me. And I’ll define “retro” as any recipe that contains the ingredient “can of mushroom soup.” LOL! She always called it “Ground Beef Casserole,” but most would put it in the “Shepherd’s Pie” category, I think. No matter what its name, it sure tastes good on a cold winter’s eve! Ground Beef Casserole (serves 6-8). 1/2 onion, chopped.

A Real Taste of Richmond
A Real Taste of Richmond. A Non-Foodie Guide to Richmond Restaurants. Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Unfortunately it is still winter . so as we brave the last few weeks of cold here are a few mini restaurant reviews to distract you from the chilly weather: The Hard Shell, Pasture, and Acacia Mid-town! The Hard Shell (Shockoe Slip). For appetizers we had the she crab soup and the creamy lobster dip with fried tortillas. The soup was excellent with big pieces of crab meat and a great creamy consistency...
