Sherpa Collywog: Corvallis Winter Wonderland
http://colleenpal.blogspot.com/2008/12/corvallis-winter-wonderland.html
Friday, December 19, 2008. It's been gloriously snowing here in Corvallis (and most of the Pacific Northwest) for the past five days, which has equated to three no school, snow days for me! We'll have to make some of them up at the end of the year, though.booo! Yep, we've gotten a few inches of the white stuff so far and I'm sure we'll get some more in the next few days. Sherpa Collywog: April 2010
http://colleenpal.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Well, We'll See How This Goes. So, the Eugene Marathon is this Sunday (finally! And here I am, injured, sick as a dog, and generally filled with malaise. Such a bummer. First up, the injury:. These past few months, I've gotten injured a few time, and I've taken anywhere from a few days to a few weeks off from training. Some of the injuries I knew would heal with time (quad strain), whereas others scared me a bit (anterior tibial tendonitis). Never once have I had a knee injury!

Sherpa Collywog: Reason #392 I Love Ian (Or, Garden Veggies Rock!)
http://colleenpal.blogspot.com/2009/06/reason-392-i-love-ian-or-garden-veggies.html
Monday, June 22, 2009. Reason #392 I Love Ian (Or, Garden Veggies Rock! Yesterday was the Summer Solstice, aka Ian and my 1st-year anniversary! This whole anniversary thing got me thinking about how awesome Ian is and how much he does (for me included). He is such a hard-worker! Take, for instance, our huge garden in our backyard- almost all created and TLCed by Ian. Oh, and Ian hand-built our composter barrel so that we can send unused goods right back into the earth. Recycling. Sweet.

A Lo Cubano: June 2008
http://aleta33.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Havana, Cuba: September 2007- January 2008. Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Marathoning in the Big City. About a month ago I sat down at my computer, with the intention of registering for the Portland 1/2 Marathon. I soon came to realize that there is no 1/2 marathon in Portland. so on a complete impulse decision (a recurring problem for me), I went ahead and registered for the full, 26.2 mile run, through the city of Portland on October 5, 2008. Check out my run and the PDX Marathon:. The rest of the nation i...

A Lo Cubano: Dark Skies, Early Nights...

Havana, Cuba: September 2007- January 2008. Tuesday, February 5, 2008. Dark Skies, Early Nights. I seem to have forgotten how dreary it gets here in the pac NW. For the last week I have not seen a patch of blue in the sky, and it is almost dark by mid-afternoon. This means I have to drink lots of tea, and spend plenty of time either @ the gym, or curled up in bed. Classes are pretty tough, but I am starting to get into a routine, and hopefully I can keep it up. I really should be sleeping right now.

A Lo Cubano: Closure to Cuba

Havana, Cuba: September 2007- January 2008. Sunday, January 27, 2008. I was talking to my roommate tonight about my ultimate feelings on Cuba, and I came to the realization, that I can hardly begin to express my thoughts. Here is what I have so far. So I guess my final thought on that it that Its the most beautiful disgusting place I have ever seen. Because their response is always "like what? And yes. like what? 8730; The average daily Cuban diet can be broken down into the following:. So while Cuba cou...

Havana, Cuba: September 2007- January 2008. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Tomorrow I have a basic fundamentals class for personal training, which means I can officially start working on Tuesday. 3 more weeks of school. then finals. Then summer comes, and Ariel and I move into a basement (not a mucky one) where we will spend a few months living before I return to school in the fall. This year has flown by. I can hardly believe it is April 6th. And I imagine it is only going to go faster. View my complete profile.

A Lo Cubano: July 2007
http://aleta33.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Havana, Cuba: September 2007- January 2008. Friday, July 20, 2007. Wow 5 weeks until I will be only 90 miles from the US, but still as far from Americanism as is possible. 5 weeks until I will be considered a "Cuban Resident", speaking spanish, drinking mojitos and dancing Son every night. It has just begun to sink in, and I am actually a little freaked out. As ready as I am to pick up and go, I have no idea what to expect, and there are things here that are going to be especially hard to leave behind.
