Breathe Paint Daily: December 2013
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. I asked myself what I wanted to accomplish. I also listened to my heart to hear what it was telling me. 1 Loosen up. By that I mean get my head out of must look like/ubber tight. 2 A consistent or progressive direction. 3 Use supplies I already have. Money being tight and having a gazillion art supplies already. To use what I have on hand. 4 Storage is an issue for canvases. So paper. I have 2 drawers full in my flat file with acid free folio paper. 22x30. Or rise up to it and...

Breathe Paint Daily: Established 1802
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2015/07/established-1802.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Or is it maybe more a bit of remorse and embarrassment for discounting acrylics for so long. And what about my affiliations? Must I now not call myself an oil painter? As artists do we really need to be defined by the medium we use or even a defined style for that matter? As artists, are we not drawn to create by an internal need, a vision, and do we not continue to create through the very act itself? I muck about in oils, pastels, everything no subject defined.

Breathe Paint Daily: November 2013
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 30, 2013. Nicnaks in the Greenhouse Window. Sometimes, artists are given little vignettes of beauty in their surroundings. One morning I was offered one such scene. The early morning sun was shining thorough the Greenhouse window. My greenhouse window is a collector of nicnaks, often randomly placed. I quickly took a picture and went on my way. Here is the painting with the underpainting partially completed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Breathe Paint Daily: September 2013
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 30, 2013. As an artist who has painted and done a huge variety of creative things throughout my life, I still feel like an emerging artist. I have so much. I will fight my demons, slay the monsters and turn in new directions. Like the video game I will enjoy the journey, embrace the frustration and keep gathering those elusive gems. Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Needing to be Returned. Needing to Be Returned. 9x12 oil on paper. Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Needing to be Returned. I hav...

Breathe Paint Daily: July 2013
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 27, 2013. I don't know how many other artists feel the extreme polarization of artistic paths. I paint ina realistic style. I have had some success in my current style but to me I still seem stilted somehow. Not sure f this is within me or judgements placed on that style. Lately I have done a few abstracts. They are fun and sometimes very theraputic. And again moderate succss some people liking them others not. Thursday, July 18, 2013. Reflections, Reflections, Reflections. An idea for a s...

Breathe Paint Daily: From Sketch to Painting
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2015/06/from-sketch-to-painting.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. From Sketch to Painting. On Sunday morning I sat outside in the glorious sunshine having my coffee. My mind was wondering to painting and painting in acrylic. I decided to capture a little vignette in my yard and the neighbouring heritage yard in a little sketch. My yard is no show place but I wanted to show there is beauty everywhere if you take the time to look. It was a fun experiment with a sketch to painting and in acrylic with moderate satisfaction on the finished painting.

Breathe Paint Daily: May 2014
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 8, 2014. Today I stamped my feet, got mad and told auntie-muse to leave me alone. I will ride with the muse sisters. I will ride. Push hard on the uphills and laugh with glee as I feel the thrill of the ride. I know auntie muse is always there but when she sees how well I ride maybe she will go inside and play with dolls. Breathe Paint Daily: The Last One For My Show Started
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-last-one-for-my-show-started.html
Wednesday, July 15, 2015. The Last One For My Show Started. I think it is serendipitous that I have chosen to paint the image of my still life prop box. Most of the things in this painting have been included in the other paintings for the show. My desire is to grab my oils and paint over the acrylic. But I do not have time for oils to dry and I am determined to complete a big realistic painting in acrylic. It is about a positive attitude. And perseverance. I will be posting my progress.

Breathe Paint Daily: January 2014
http://breathepaintdaily.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 24, 2014. 32 Goddess of Speed Nearing the Finish Line. I like obsession and having a large project. I have been able to get into the studio a lot this week. Sometimes only for 30-45 minutes, sometimes for much longer. I love painting in the early morning. A different approach with this painting is I am having to work flat so the glazes don't run. They really don't run but the do move a teeny bit which I don't like at all. Thursday, January 23, 2014. 30 in 30 Check. But I wanted to say tha...
