Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Baby Shower for our Grandson! We had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for our son, daughter in law and soon to be born grandson last weekend. I made lots of snacks and provided wine, beer and soda for our guests. My sister contributed handmade baby powder scented soaps as party favors. They smell so yummy! Our new front door arrived just in time! The baby shower was an Open House concept, no games! Mom and Dad to be got lots of great gifts! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, December 27, 2010. Hola and Feliz Navidad! We are back from sunny, beautiful Mexico. Our 5 days away was a welcome respite from the cold weather here in Kansas. We stayed in Playa del Carmen and just chilled. We went into town shopping a few times and my husband and son built a KU Jayhawk sand sculpture. A scene from downtown Playa del Carmen. The view from my beach lounger! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Life in the creative fast lane and beyond. Shawnee, Kansas, United States. Buy my art at:.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011. What I Saw In Studios Magazine! I got the new issue of Cloth Paper Scissors Studios magazine yesterday. I was flipping through it and just happened to see this picture:. No big deal right? But upon closer inspection I saw a woman wearing one of my necklaces! Now I know the photo is so small that it is barely visible, but its mine! Tuesday, February 1, 2011. I took this shot of the drift on my deck! I think we have 12 inches of snow. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Buy my art at:.

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Funny kids.and latest art. Kids are funny. And maybe every mom feels the same way, but mine are very funny. Lately, I've been feeling like my main purpose in life is to load and unload the dishwasher. It wasn't so long ago that I didn't HAVE a dishwasher, so I'm grateful to have one.and I'd get my kids to do it but I'm quite particular about where things go! During prayers a few nights back, Miso says. "Thank you Jesus for all the blooming opossums". But the funniest one lat...

Sunday, October 19, 2014. An Artsy Pumpkin Oddity. Please excuse the poorly lit photos and plush, baby blue blanket background fabric! It was late, our house is dimly lit and I just wanted to fire off some pictures before it went to it's final destination, Scooters Coffee House. My sister-in-law and I came up with this design for a pumpkin decorating contest. We couldn't cut into the pumpkin because it will remain on display for a few weeks and they didn't want it to rot. It took two evenings to complete...

Saturday, May 23, 2015. Bundles of treasure are still h iding out in various locations around my yard, but being an impatient sort, I had to rush-process one to satisfy my curiosity. This bundle was an embroidered, square linen tablecloth that I snagged at my favorite thrift store for a whopping 99 cents. The rust was obviously from metal.wire and safety pins.but the black and green marks were made with red onion skins reacting to vinegar. You just never know what you'll discover inside. Now, for the art.

Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Walnut Ink.and erosion bundle extracted. Walnut Ink. So expensive at the art store, and so easy to make. These walnuts have been sitting in a bucket on my back porch since last year. They were moldy but that was no match for boiling water. There was no complicated recipe or precise directions, I just boiled them like taters! And then there's THIS. It took me a while to dig it up, and when I found it I didn't even recognize it.my compost bundle! Poor centipedes will have to relocate.

Monday, April 13, 2015. If you've ever read "Home for a Bunny" you know that the story starts."Spring, spring, spring! Birds and flowers are bursting out, the frost is gone and here comes the rain. Soon we'll be mowing grass and swatting at mosquitoes but before that time comes.there's gardening to be done. I've started broccoli, which I've never grown before. I've got enough cucumber plants to produce sour dills for the whole block! This cardinal nest came from our 5' tall pine tree.the bird placed ...

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Last night, I couldn't sleep.so I sat down and stitched up a little (a wee 3" tall) journal cover. It looks like it could double as a rosary pouch as well. More rusted goodness handstitched. This is the journal cover open.now to decide on the pages.and what will it be? Another project I've started is a black and white journal to collect all my scrappy bits. I'm an awkward collager, maybe because I'm particular.it takes me a long time to be pleased with a layout. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. A Snowy Nature Walk. I've been reading and following the weekly exercises from a book called The Artist's Way. My sign, a perfect hear in the snow at my feet. It sure looks like a door for a hobbit or fairy's home to me. The colors were just beautiful against the white snow in this milk pod. The creek was still flowing and the root system looked like fairy condos. It was amazing, these leaves had survived the snow and wind. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Monday, June 6, 2011. I par...
