Ostern 1892 stand ich während eines Aufenthaltes in Hamburg vor einem niedersächsischen Bauernhof in Langenhorn, und da fiel es mir wie Schuppen von den Augen, dass ich hier etwas sah, das mir innerlich näher stand als alles, was die Akademie und München mir allenfalls geben konnten. Wir haben vor allem in Lüneburg, aber auch an einigen anderen Orten Ausstellungen. Mit Werken von Arthur Illies veranstaltet. Einige Male haben wir anderen Veranstaltern Werke zur Verfügung stellen können. Diesen Veranstaltern und den Gastgebern unserer Ausstellungen sind wir sehr zu Dank verpflichtet. 1999 im Museum für das Fürstentum Lüneburg. 2001 im Traubensaal des Lüneburger Rathauses. 2002 im Museum für das Fürstentum Lüneburg. Zu Illies 50. Todestag. 2005 in der Kunststätte Bossard in Jesteburg.

Ährenfeld 1896, 18 x 15 cm. 1897 in 1600 Exemplaren in der Kunstzeitschrift PAN veröffentlicht. Illies stellte diese Handdrucke von vier gleichen Platten her, und zwar im damaligen Lesezimmer der Hamburger Kunsthalle, das ihm Lichtwark dafür überlassen hatte; mit einigen Hilfskräften dauerte dies 14 Arbeitstage, wie er in seinem Tagebuch schreibt.
