Ramblin' Jan: Fibromyalgia and Food "Fix"
http://ramblingjan.blogspot.com/2015/02/fibromyalgia-and-food-fix.html
Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Fibromyalgia and Food "Fix". Years back, when I worked a desk job, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I had been running regularly, working out, taking aerobic classes, and was very active (but not overly so). Slowly I got to the point where getting out of bed in the morning was painful. I hurt. I was miserable. Sleep was sporadic and I was slugging through the day. I ultimately went to see a nutritionist. Not your typical hospital nutritionist (here's your food pyramid, e...

Artzapalooza: Powers Festival... getting better!
http://artzapalooza.blogspot.com/2010/09/powers-festival-getting-better.html
Monday, September 6, 2010. Powers Festival. getting better! At some point in the past, on one of our blogs, we wrote a sad column about the Powers Crossroads Festival. Now just Powers Festival) in Newnan, Georgia. While fun, the quality of work offered had suffered as they were allowing buy-sell stuff that detracted from the better work. There were also some other problems which had artists putting the festival on their "not gonna do it again" list. I think it's going to take a few years and some continu...

Monday, July 12, 2010. To go or not to go. that is the question. Our answer is GO and go now to this link. Wherefore art thou to go? Georgia Shakespeare. Yes, yes, we promise.that's the last of our poor attempts at Shakespeare-speak! A couple of us from the Arts Across Georgia staff finally decided to check out Georgia Shakespeare Friday night. For quite some time we've been promoting the venue and have heard good things so we have no excuse as to why it took so long. We're hooked now though! Lest you th...

Monday, January 19, 2015. Disapointed in Van's Foods. It's getting harder and harder to find things that don't have cane sugar, dextrose, corn syrup, or some other really bad-for-you sweetener. One of my no-sugar faves has been Van's Foods gluten-free waffles. They had three that were fruit juice sweetened. The regular, the blueberry and the apple cinnamon. I didn't pay attention. I guess it's just getting to the point in our America that if it isn't sweetened with sugar it isn't going to sell. I know I'...

Ramblin' Jan: On the hunt for sugar-free frozen potatoes...(Healthy Eating Post) - updated
http://ramblingjan.blogspot.com/2015/01/on-hunt-for-sugar-free-frozen.html
Sunday, January 11, 2015. On the hunt for sugar-free frozen potatoes.(Healthy Eating Post) - updated. I am a lazy cook. I used to do gourmet meals, spend time in the kitchen, but there's just way too much to do in life these days. I'd rather be in the studio! Given there's only two of us, buying fresh often results in a lot of waste. I toss half of what we buy sometimes simply because we like variety and we can't eat a whole bunch or bag before it goes bad. It's getting harder and harder to find things t...
