Let the beauty we love be what we do." Rumi. Monday, November 29, 2010. What an amazing spice! Links to this post. Hot latte, fresh cookies.ah.you can just 'see' the fragrant scents. Buoyed by holiday energy, I wanted to express the colors, the tastes, aromas and comforts of the season. The pleasures of painting are visual, kinetic and tactile. All the more fun to evoke the other wonderful senses of taste and smell. Christmas Latte' is a 6"x 6" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. Links to this post. And t...

Barbara Mearing: 2011 Reflections
http://barbaramearing.blogspot.com/2011/01/2011-reflections.html
Let the beauty we love be what we do." Rumi. Sunday, January 16, 2011. And I am still here. But why no posts for a while? I decided to be a serious amateur painter and started with taking a painting class. I realized and that since my picture hanging spaces had run out, (1) I needed to get serious about showing and selling.of course all the time keeping up the painting and in aid of that, (2) I really needed to step up to technology. So I opened this blog. What a year it was! So here it is 2011.

Barbara Mearing: 2012!!
http://barbaramearing.blogspot.com/2012/01/2012.html
Let the beauty we love be what we do." Rumi. Saturday, January 14, 2012. More than 6 months since my last entry! After the fun and excitement of being shown at Raven Rocks, I began to get ready for entering a few shows.Edmonds Art Festival, ASW show and others. Entering in many festivals and shows all over the northern Puget Sound Area was lots of fun, but challenging to keep up with so many deadlines. So I was delighted to be invited to join the Whidbey Art Gallery in Langley! Happy New Year to all.

Barbara Mearing: Colorplay
http://barbaramearing.blogspot.com/2011/04/colorplay.html
Let the beauty we love be what we do." Rumi. Thursday, April 7, 2011. The traditional 'tobacco leaf' pattern on the old china tea caddy got my attention for it's lovely color scheme. Posing it with a sunshiny lemon and soft yellow roses in a blue vase seemed just the thing. This painting is acrylic, 5 x 3.5 inches. Miniatures are such fun to paint! This one SOLD at the Park Lane Gallery Annual Miniatures Show in Kirkland, Washington. May 2, 2011 at 4:54 PM. I had no idea you were an artist!

Barbara Mearing: Paradox
http://barbaramearing.blogspot.com/2011/02/paradox.html
Let the beauty we love be what we do." Rumi. Saturday, February 12, 2011. We love the heat of summer and paradoxically, the cool, refreshing shade of large trees. I painted this in Winthrop in Eastern Washington State. The trees and hayfields were large - from one edge of my field of view to the other in all directions, but captured in a 4" x 6" acrylic miniature. This little treasure was SOLD at the Whidbey Art Gallery in Langley, Washington. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Barbara Mearing Fine Art.
