XVI International Astronomy Olympiad. Pick-up from the airport. All participants of the IAO 2011. Will be transfered from the airport to the hotel by our shuttles. You need to send us your flight number, departure and arrival time. If by the time of your landing you don't see anybody in the airport with a sign with you last name or Olympiad logo on it, stay in the building and do not take a taxi, simply wait. It was created by an outstanding artist from Almaty specifically for this Olympiad and expressed the important role of astronomy in modern life and a link between culture and space that exists for a millennium. The International Astronomy Olympiad was founded in 1996 by the Eurasian Astronomical Society as one of the International Science Olympiads. Since the foundation until present (Summer 2011) Olympiad is coordinated by Dr. Michael G. Gavrilov. XVI International Astronomy Olympiad. International Astronomy Olympiad in Almaty has come to an end. It was an amazing time, and we hope that all participants liked it and will remember it for a long time. These nine days were unforgettable and we would like to thank all participants for making such a long trip to Kazakhstan.
