I started late for Mars this season. These images were taken with a C14 XLT on an AP900GTO mount. My camera is a Point Grey Research Flea3 monochrome camera. A Homeyer motorized filter wheel was used to produce an RGB image. I used an Astrophysics Barcon working at 3X. To capture I used FireCapture 2.1. For processing, I use AutoStakkert and Registax V. I have been an amateur astronomer since 1986 years and an astrophotographer since 1990! I live in the island of Cebu, Philippines. I started out during the last apparition of Halley's Comet. I was still in High School then. I used a 10X40 binocular for 4 years. In 1988, with a few friends, we started the University of San Carlos Astronomical Society. THE SUN IN HYDROGEN ALPHA. I acquired a Coronado Solarmax 60 from OPT (Thanks John Downs! On the 1st week of February so that I can view the Venus Transit. On June 8 this year in Hydrogen Alpha! It is the most expensive filter that I have ever purchased. It is almost as expensive as when I got my AP130 EDF! After days of cloudy skies I had my first light on February 13. I was hooked the first time I saw prominences! June 6, 2005. Here's an image of AR 775 and 776 in HAlpha using a Toucam Pro webcam.
